Maybe they’re making it a terrible place.

A swirly thing got me about 3 years ago with 185mph+ winds. Still trying to clean up from that mess.

Mass is #1 ad New York #2. Those are by FAR a much better choice to raise your kids.

I understand. That you live in such a hell hole is a testament to your courage.

I also live in a total hellhole. We are a bunch of inbred red neck hicks, probably cannibals who torture and eat innocent city folks who drive through.

Stay away!

Go live in some nice place like New York City.

Oh, geez. I’m sorry to hear that. Pensacola, where I live now, had Sally in 2020, but that was a Cat 1 — still blew out windows and caused barges to knock spans out of the new US 98 bridge across Pensacola Bay. Then there was Ivan in 2004 — Cat 4 which knocked out the I-10 bridge across Escambia Bay and took the power out for around 72 days.

Florida does suck. Humid. No mountains. Swamps. Tornadoes. Hurricanes. Terrible drivers. It rains all the time here. Blah.

I have lived in Iowa, Illinois, California, WA state, and Florida. Florida is best with WA second best.

Florida has been becoming crowded and diverse with immigrants for decades and decades. And those same factors are occurring everywhere south of the mason dixon line the last decade.

Aer you kidding? If it rains all the time, why I have to keep watering the grass so often? No earthquakes here, tornadoes are very rare, drivers in CA & IL & AZ are far worse, and it is humid only 6 moths of the year. Right now the weather is gorgeous here in FLorida. Swamps? no body builds house next a swamp. There are no sub-divisions in Okefenokee swamp area. There is zero state income tax, and property taxes for seniors are the lowest anywhere. My property tax for 2021 was $2300 for a house worth $325k on the market.

Legal immigrants work harder than others.

It’s entirely possible you might encounter a Florida man.

I grew up in Florida and have tons of wonderful memories and our kids did too!!! There isn’t enough money in the World to entice me to bring children up anywhere in the Northeast!!!

I remember a time years ago when I used to take media rankings like this seriously. Then, I discovered the real world.

Slow I can be.

Maybe I will relocate to some place that few ever talk about.

I am thinking no State Income Tax, open carry, and after that I can deal with the rest.

I need a new drug.

I grew up in the 60’s/70’s. Most to the architecture in South Florida doesn’t date back before the early 50’s. So no old world charm.

Florida, four years, plus a year studying in Miami Beach, which I also hated. New York, substantially all of my adult life and much of my childhood and adolescence before then. Grew up in Buffalo, studied in Brooklyn, worked and raised a family alternately in Buffalo and NYC. Then to my great anguish lived in Florida for four years. Family matter.
