Yahoo Finance's Anjalee Khemlani discusses how the CDC says the COVID-19 booster shots are effective against the Omicron variant.
(Excerpt) Read more at news.yahoo.com ...
Not being vaccinated seems to be at least 90% effective for keeping Omicron (aka the January common cold) from putting you in the hospital too.
90% effective at preventing hospitalizations…what does that mean? Does it mean that 10% of boosted individuals got hospitalized? Does it mean that 10% of hospitalizations happened to be boosted individuals? Does it mean unvaccinated individuals were 90% more likely to be hospitalized than boosted individuals? It’s vague to the point of having no meaning. And of course Yahoo doesn’t provide a link to the original source, study, or data that was used to make the claim. I never trust an article that doesn’t link to the study or the data.
Ahh OK! I’m on board. It’s even better than before! Where can I get my booster? Can I still get the booster, even if I’ve never had the vacine?
I’m not going to trade 36 hours of headache, nausea, chills and hot flash MISERY in order to “prevent” 36 hours of mild sniffles.
NO DEAL.
“You can stick your vaccine ‘booster’ up your arse”
Exacly. Let's look at the actual FDA and Pfizer-BioNTech info.
On August 23, 2021, the FDA approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty, for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older.(emphasis added)
Per the Comernity Insert,
--------------------------- INDICATIONS AND USAGE----------------------------
COMIRNATY is a vaccine indicated for active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in individuals 16 years of age and older. (1)(emphasis added>
Per the Summary Basis for Regulatory Action, under "Indication"
Active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in individuals 16 years of age and older. (Emphasis added)
Clearly, the vaccine is for PREVENTION. Nothing else. All of the clinical trials (limited as they were) and statistical confidence intervals were focused on Vaccine Efficacay (VE) with regard to PREVENTION...not hospitalization, not ER visits, and not symptoms. Accordingly, THAT is the basis upon which these shots should be evaluated.
This isn't science...it's political science.
Not having a booster is 97% effective against hospitalization.
it had a low hospitalization rate even before it landed on American soil.
People in South Africa were giddy with what the numbers they were seeing.
And, from what I’ve read here, if you get the booster you only have a one in ten chance of being hospitalized!
I bet the numbers are like 0.9 vs 0.1, lies with stats
@ post 18 - chuckled out loud! Then looked up and had a sad sigh....
They’re playing Whack-A-Mole with the human race.
Moderna’s booster is a half dose of the original.
Thanks for finding this piece of propaganda and your reminder that “no vaccine ever built a virus proof filter in nose.”
Yes.
I have no data to prove for or against it.
More than copious amounts of data for that.
Cases are not hospitalizations.
