University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has co-signed a letter to West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin (D) to support the Freedom to Vote Act. However, the coach later stressed that he did not support killing the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster.
In addition to Saban, the letter was signed by NBA legend Jerry West, former Bills linebacker Darryl Talley, former WVU Athletic Director Oliver Luck, and former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

I hope Joe sends him some better plays to run than Saban used last week.
With all this hoo-hah, I’m reminded of how the libs love to tell us something is defeated and then hit us over the head with it.
Gutless prick appeasing future recruits.
Bookmarking for when Sabin runs as a Republican.
I just ordered my “What Would Nick Saban” Do? bracelet.
We don’t care what you think, Nicky…..And I hope Manchin doesn’t either.
I just ordered my “What Would Nick Saban Do?” bracelet.
If he signed a letter supporting gutting the filibuster (a Senate rule) but declined to support a federal takeover of election laws (which are explicitly the province of the states in the Constitution) I might not think he is an ignoramus. But..., he is an ignoramus.
Nick Saban? Wait? Maybe we need to re-evaluate our entire world view! I mean this is the coach that.... yacked one up against Georgia!
They fall all over themselves sucking up to BLM. Disgusting.
He is on the way down. He lost two games this year to former assistant coaches, including the championship. He has lost three of his last five title games. He goes a lot but he loses more of them these days.
Hey Saban, I’m glad your team went to the dogs in Indianapolis, you loser jerk!
He can't win the big one.
Sigh. I respected you, even as a Florida Gator, but this is it for me. Saban is a selfish, ruthless individual. WHY do this?
I think it was Vince Lombardi that said a head football coach has to be “just smart enough to get the job done, but dumb enough to think it really matters.”
But I’m guessing Saban doesn’t care what I think. He’s got that FU money.
This is rich coming from the highest paid government employee (Alabama).
If I was the keeper of the colored folk on the football plantation, or even the b-ball one, I would make sure that I was on the “Dark” side of this IF I only cared about recruiting and winning at ALL COST.
There are bigger issues at play than keeping the people singing their songs and playing ball.
I know that sounds very bad and maybe bigoted. It is the truth though. The Dark skinned guys will sacrifice time, sweat and tears to have a shot at a game that will give them a shot at getting paid to play a game. The same goes for those who can’t sing, they rap. Why? it is what they aspire too obviously. They don’t learn to speak English well, write well, learn mathematics or meld into society. It IS WHAT IT IS.
Vince was a big JFK fan, a Democrat, and a devout Catholic. He went to mass every day. He could be as loud and profane as could be, but his players loved him, and he didn’t regale them with politics. It was about life lessons. Saban could take a chapter from that book.
Not just in Alabama, maybe in the USA. Lincoln Riley makes more (USC) but isn’t a government employee.
