What an ignorant woman. The Democrats were the party of the segregationist Dixiecrats.

We need to have “reverse busing” where we send white Leftists to live in inner city neighborhoods. Every metropolitan area across the nation must have a quota of white, wealthy Democrats living right in the middle of low-income districts. God, I’d love to see that.

Very short sighted.
People in our camp love to point out that King cheated on his wife etc as if that somehow addresses anything he advocated.

Our side would do much better to claim him for our side and point out how his beliefs are bitterly opposed straight down the line by BLM and the democrats.

He opposed abortion, BLM kills babies and hates families.
He opposed segregated areas, dorms, classrooms, etc. BLM wants segregation as a way of life.
He opposed violent change and pushed for non-violent resistance. BLM is violent and murderous.
He was a minister... BLM is atheist or pagan if Kwanzaa is in town.
Last but not least, the FBI utterly illegally wiretapped and blackmailed him and even tried to induce him to suicide.
Today’s FBI is pursuing the same moves against our side today.

I’d prefer to see our side claim him and constantly point out how BLM is killing his dream and resisting his dream.

MLK had more in common with today’s Republicans than her.

When democrats took over the civil rights movement they dumped King as an ‘Uncle Tom’ and started ‘investing’ in violent black groo in ups.

What we honor MLK for was the work he did in the Civil Rights Movement while he was a Republican.

I heard MLK speak in Chicago in 1963 - there might have been 600 to 700 people at Wrigley Field...not more. Most of the democrat civil rights people had already labeled King an ‘uncle Tom’ and chose not to attend. A friend - Tom - a Chicago poet and friend of Malcolm X didn’t attend - none of the kids from the CORE Freedom House showed up - same with the TWO volunteers. None of those people bothered. History is being rewritten by people who were NOT there at the time... And democrats? They changed MLK - for the worse. And supported more violent groups that stopped civil rights progress and turned blacks over to democrats like LBJ

Hey, Joy? As a born-and-bred Wisconsinite, MY state has a LONG history of freeing and assisting slaves of ALL colors, ya dumb bunny!

Here. I’ll do your HOMEWORK for you!

“The Second Continental Congress passed the Northwest Ordinance in 1787 as a way to establish new states in territory the United States had gained northwest of the Ohio River after the Revolutionary War. It authorized a provisional territorial government, provided for the creation of new governments within those territories, created a bill of rights for residents and prohibited slavery, and created a way to survey land and sell it to new settlers.

It was a “unique colonial structure” that the Wisconsin Supreme Court that would use in 1854 to defy a federal law requiring northern states to cooperate with federal law-enforcement officials in returning escaped slaves to their southern holders, Ranney said.”

Black Suffrage: Slavery, citizenship, and securing the right to vote in Wisconsin

“Wisconsin entered the Union as a free state in 1848, and has its share of associations with the abolitionist movement — the state Supreme Court, in what is among its most significant decisions, declared the federal Fugitive Slave Act unconstitutional in 1854, and opposition to slavery drove the genesis of the Republican Party in Ripon the same year.”

I thought that MSNBC had canned Joy Reid. There are probably more people reading this thread right now than viewers of her show. You’re right, of course; the GOPe can’t say enough nice things about Marxist Luther King.

"What we honor MLK for was the work he did in the Civil Rights Movement while he was a Republican."

Since he wasn't, when was that exactly ? You keep repeating that falsehood ad infinitum.

Reid also claimed Republicans celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. but oppose “everything Dr. King fought for.”

Does My Zip Code Affect My Medicare Coverage?

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reports that, with Original Medicare (Parts A and B), you can use any doctor or hospital that takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S. Medicare plans like Medigap and Medicare Advantage are a different story, though. The pricing, rules, and availability of these plans vary by state, and even sometimes by zip code....
