Soros-backed Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby indicted on 4 felonies

Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury of 4 felonies related to her purchase of a home in Florida.

Mosby was among the first law enforcement officials supported by left-wing billionaire George Soros in his quest to remake the criminal justice system in the United States.

Federal prosecutors allege that Mosby lied to falsely obtain a withdrawal from her savings account based on a policy related to the coronavirus pandemic. She is also accused of lying on a mortgage application for the home purchase.

Investigators subpoenaed financial records from Mosby and her husband, City Council President Nick Mosby, in March.

Mosby is running for re-election in June for a third term as Baltimore’s state’s attorney. She has denied any wrongdoing in previous statements about the investigation.

Prosecutors say she asked for a withdrawal of $40,000 from her city retirement account based on what she said was a financial hardship based on the coronavirus pandemic. Contrary to that claim, prosecutors said that at that time her salary had increased by $10,000 to $248,000.

Mosby’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, blamed racism for the charges.

“We will fight these charges vigorously, and I remain confident that once all the evidence is presented, that she will prevail against these bogus charges — charges that are rooted in personal, political and racial animus five months from her election,” read a statement from Bolden.

Mosby faced criticism when she announced in March 2021 that her office would no longer prosecute prostitution, drug possession and other crimes she referred to as “low level” offenses. In response, Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan called for an investigation of Mosby’s policies and threatened to cut funding to her office.

If convicted, Mosby could face up to five years in prison for each of the two counts of perjury, and up to 30 years in prison for each charge of making a false statement.

This is banana republic level corruption, and is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

National media is busy ignoring this, of course.

She’ll get a slap on the wrist and surrender her law license for a year or so, just like Bill Clinton............

This is banana republic behavior on the part of the defendant but the harshness of the charges are ridiculous. 30 years for lying on a mortgage application is more than murders get. We can tell from these types of charges that the bank cartel rules us all.

This woman is a piece of work.

It’s been endless since the BLM riots of ‘15. She made a name for herself since sticking up for all that garbage.

Latest was not prosecuting “minor” crimes. Which soon other cities will copy happily, I see.

Call me an outlier but….nothing she did in these charges really hurt anybody.

She withdrew money out of her retirement plan early by using covid excuse to fudge the rules, and she lied on a couple loan applications to lower her interest rate on buying investment properties.

Ho hum. No capital offenses here.
Ought to be a civil case by the lenders and a slap on the wrist and tax penalties by the pension fund

However, her credibility as a city attorney…is gone.

Now she’s ready and “qualified” to run for governor of Maryland.

I wonder why Biden’s DOJ is going after Mosby? There must be more here, since politically this doesn’t help Biden at all. Covid relief was given out fraudulently everywhere. Is there more corruption linked to Mosby?

Well, given that most all of the judges in Md were appointed by dems, a goodly number by Odumbo, I think I can see the result already.

There is one Trump appointed judge BUT she had been previously nominated by the Big O but not confirmed.

I dislike Mosby as much as anyone and I’d really like to see her go down but this is not going anywhere - it was her own money that she wanted to withdraw from her retirement account. She gave a bs reason - sure - but if that’s all that the prosecution has they are wasting their time.

True but it won’t necessarily damage her aspirations for higher state office. Its Maryland don’t you know.

Don’t worry. She’ll be back soon in some other capacity where she can leech off the taxpayers.

Accusations of corruption or rape are features for DemonRATs, not problems. Marion Berry or Bill Clinton are great examples.

Financial fraud is bad enough for the average joe, and some people might somehow be unaware that if you like on a bank loan application you can get into a world of trouble. Maybe.

She’s not that guy though.. She’s a lawyer, an officer of the court. I realize that lawyers don’t have the greatest reputations, but everyone I personally know in that trade is fully aware of the hot water they could get into with this sort of thing.

But it gets worse for her. She’s supposed to be the chief prosecutor for Baltimore, IOW, one of the top two LE officials in the county, the other being the elected sheriff.

There is no excuse for this. Just imagine if a Republican DA had tried anything remotely like this, CNN would have wall-to-wall coverage for weeks.

Was the money 'withdrawn' from Mosby's retirement account, or did she get a loan from her retirement account? Cause I can't figure out how she lied on her mortgage app unless she borrowed some money and said that she hadn't.
