‘With multiple investigations already underway, I do not support the politically motivated January 6 Commission led by Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi’
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement in opposition to the Senate commission investigating the January 6 terrorist attack on the Capitol:
"The January 6 terrorist attack on the Capitol was a dark moment in our nation's history, and I fully support the ongoing law enforcement investigations into anyone involved. Everyone who attacked the Capitol must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and brought to justice. I also support the Senate committees of jurisdiction who are exercising their proper oversight roles to provide an in-depth and complete account of the attack. With multiple investigations already underway, I do not support the politically motivated January 6 Commission led by Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi."
In addition to DeepState agitators and one crazed shooter.
Even attacking a cop wouldn’t be considered a terrorist attack. January 6th protest was probably one of the best days in America because it showed a bunch of unarmed boomers taking selfies can cause the entire congress to pee their pants crying in absolute horror. It’s important for these “people” to understand what fear is and that they are not above the rest of citizens in this country. The government should fear it’s people, not the other way around.
Why doesn’t he just start his own politically motivated investigation? Recommend that anyone who is not charged with insurrection be released immediately. That kind of thing.
Tucker fried Cruz last night and would not let up..... Burnt Toast Ted. HE SCREWED HIMSELF. Open mouth; out come democrat agenda.
I didn’t support him in 2016, but was beginning to accept him as a potential Pres Candidate in the future, no longer. Swamp boy.
He sure is stupid and craven for a smart man.
He has no desirable character traits.
None.
And he wonders why people mocked him all his life.
Note to self: Never let Goldman Sachs write my statements.
Per Ted’s Twitter acct...day after 1/6/21...

Devastating. Heidi and I are lifting up in prayer the family of the U.S. Capitol Police officer who tragically lost his life keeping us safe. He was a true hero.
Yesterday’s terrorist attack was a horrific assault on our democracy. Every terrorist needs to be fully prosecuted.
When you have to explain what you’ve said, you’ve already lost.
Senator Cruz said something really stupid. He regrets it. Call him on it and move on. We have bigger fish to fry.
Cruz looked pathetic last night on Tucker. That interview pretty much ended his political career hopes beyond senator and he knows it.
The right in this country is in no mood for ‘bi-partisan’ talk. With the other party morphing quickly into communism, there should be ZERO outreach or direct or indirect support of anything they attempt to do or narrative they come up with. Cruz’s statement was not sloppy or accidental. Cruz is not stupid and never says a word without a reason. It was his subtle attempt to smack Trump and his supporters. He will find out that there is no difference or wedge between conservatism and Trump’s supporters, as he so hopes.
Trump deserves a second run and we all deserve a fair election.
At any rate, I’ve never thought he was electable as POTUS. His mannerisms and speech remind me of a snake oil salesman combined with a pastor’s sermon.
On Tucker’s show, it was awesome to watch smooth-talking Cruz squirm under pressure about what he said vs. what he meant to say. As for me, Cruz has smooth-talked his way out of future political ambitions.
Nice try but that it not going to happen with the base.
Ted is the LEAST respected Senator among the other Senators. Leader? No way.
No, since he himself was also protesting the stolen election and was the person leading the challenge to the electoral counts.
Or this guy:
I’m not defending those who entered the Capitol, but calling them “terrorists” when there wasn’t a single gun brought inside the Capitol is a wild overstatement. Actual “terrorist”, had they gotten inside, would not have simply wandered around taking a few pictures, stealing a few things, and then just leaving.
“Let’s not eat our own”...
We need to start re-evaluating the definition of ‘our own’. It takes more than an ‘R’ and tough talk on Fox to be ‘our own’.
