The pilot must have been flying real low.
For some reason that even the Air Traffic Controller can’t understand, the pilot decided to do a VFR landing with a 500 foot ceiling.
I’m not knowledgeable enough to say, but looks like a really dumb move. Why would you drop out of IFR?
The Learjet was returning from Medevac missions, with two pilots and two nurses aboard. A tragedy.
I saw an F-105 crash within 2 blocks of my elementary school in Las Vegas in 64. We were on the playground at 2 o’clock and the jet was vertical tail up and the after burner melted the flashing on the school roof. The jet crashed into homes down the street and killed 8 people. The last thing the pilot said was that he couldn’t hit the school. It exploded in a huge fireball. It left an impression on me and everytime I hear a plane nearby I cringe. The pilot was a hero.
I heard the audio the other day. I heard an impact just before the pilot starts to curse.
I thought it might have been a drone or a bird, but never considered a powerline.
He obviously didn’t know where he was but the video showed the plane literally dropping out of the sky…
Looks to me in the video that the plane banked to much and completely lost lift.
Never fly on a private plane.
Agree. There are some sadistic people who enjoy a humans death. We are living in a primarily Godless society. This is what happens when God does not guide you in your daily endeavors
The pilot of the DC-10 that lost an engine (fell off the plane) after departure from OHare just said “Oh damn”.
I think I’d be screaming something else, but that’s just me.
My friend is a stunt pilot in airshows.
Shuttles aircraft for other pilot/owners.
He took me up in an open cockpit Great Lakes and did an inverted flat spin and all the other easy stuff. Great fun.
He flies WWII and other vintage aircraft from the museum.
He flies VIPs and transplant organs all over the country for a charter outfit.
It’s the pilot that makes the difference. I would fly anywhere anytime with him.
The TSA pilot over San Diego said “I love you mom”.
At Offutt a T38 hit sliding along the ground, copilot ejected vertically the the plane went on a downward slope and the pilot ejected horizontally and landed face first.
