I am in a meeting held by a local right-wing mom’s group. It’s an organization catering to mothers who are bent on protesting at school board meetings to stop the supposedly evil critical race theory agenda from being taught in public schools and address other typically conservative concerns.

There are all kinds of iterations of home schooling one can do.
We are of moderate means - our church started a homeschooling group with parent volunteers. My son attended an online homeschool that was 100% better than the local indoctrination center that seemed to focus on America as evil.

It can be done and thousands of parents - like me - are doing just that.
That’s odd. I had the best times in the scouts, we use to call it the “mini Marines” as our Troop was run by two WW2 Marine combat vets who treated it pretty much like the Marines.
We use to go camping on what they called “Blue nose expeditions” in the middle of winter in the snow in upstate New York camping in canvas pup tents. I was a kid and we’d be freezing our butts off, I would wake up in the morning by reveille, we actually had a kid named Pete who played bugle who would play reveille, and all my clothes would be frozen solid not to mention the sleeping bag because the tents would leak like a sieve. To this day when I hear reveille I get that sick feeling lol
It was really hardcore stuff, when it rained we’d be sleeping in a puddle of water. We had gun training, hunting, combat training. Today there would be lawsuits “right wingers are teaching my child to kill!”
The best were the canoe trips down the Delaware river, those were unbelievable but torturous. We would go in April when it was still freezing and if the canoe capsized and you fell in the water, you would turn hypothermic. I remember shaking so much I couldn’t put my gloves on.
Then we would have monster hikes on the Appalachian trail carrying 50 pound back packs which to a kid might have well been 3000 pounds. I remember one trip I got new boots that weren’t broken in and they shredded my feet, THAT was torture, I could barely walk at the end.
It’s crazy how I remember so much of that as if it happened yesterday. Oh yeah and then swimming training for the swimming merit badge swimming in Alder lake in upstate NY and the water would be absolutely freezing as well. Everything was always freezing

Upon first read, I presumed that she was an Antifa "medic", which is a made up position used to obfuscate their real job in Antifa and allow them membership in the Antifa club.
Overall, it looks like she should have chosen her soulmate better so that he would hang around once the baby was born.
The only way you couldn't see an "undercurrent of rage" at an organization founded to be anti-Trump is if the surface torrents of rage hid it.
Also I was intrigued by "This nefariously clever bit of relabeling disgusted me" but the first thing the author did was call these parents with Fascists and Nazis, despite everything they do seeming to be to reduce the power of government organizations like the school. I never had thought of Nazis being big supporters of limited government.
If CRT was good for the kids teachers wouldn’t be for it or teach it.
