Airline corporations have explicitly demanded passengers wear masks between bites of food and sips of drinks.
Despite a Harvard study reported by the Washington Post in 2020 that indicates “flying can be safer than eating at a restaurant during the pandemic” due to “onboard systems that constantly circulate and refresh air,” airlines have begun conducting in-flight announcements to cudgel people into donning masks while eating and drinking.

I recently traveled. I brought food on the plane with me and ate the entire time. The flight attendant had no clue what to say and I know she wanted to say something.

Does anyone believe for a minute that the pilots — breathing the same air as the passengers — wear those completely, 100%, no scientific or engineering doubt about it face masks during the entire flight? HA!

Same here. I last flew somewhere in December 2019 and have no intention of ever doing so again until this mask nonsense is gone.
And this “between bites and sips” nonsense is not only absurd, it’s unsanitary and disgusting. Requiring people to use their nasty, bacteria-laden masks as a napkin too is beyond gross.
This is so obviously about control and not about anybody’s health.

It’s so stupid. If you look closely at passengers (especially women), everybody tweaks their masks so they can stealthily breath...super stunningly effective

Macadamia nuts were not an option when I last flew. Peanuts, trail mix, or a biscuit cookie.
I thought peanuts were forbidden in a public setting.
Look at the bright side. CNN wasn’t on the TV’s in the airport.

You’re correct, but it was also relatively much more expensive. And the cabin was filled with cigarette smoke.
Just with fewer drugged vagrants.
It gets a bit chilly in there. Also, bring an O2 tank.
So you will have to constantly use your hands to fiddle with your mask as you eat or drink. That would seem to be highly unhealthy.
About the last thing I need at the point of life I’m at is being uncomfortable, seated next to a slob while having a skank airline hostess nagging at me. I will drive anywhere I have to for as long as I can.
My memory might be bad. It was three really cheap, small choices. Macadamia nuts where definitely not on the list.
