The 15-year-old who allegedly attacked Michigan’s Oxford High on Tuesday used a handgun his father purchased on Black Friday 2021.
Breitbart News reported three students were killed in the Oxford High attack and numerous other people were injured.
USA Today noted that Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard announced the 15-year-old used a pistol his father bought days earlier.
He indicated the 15-year-old allegedly had two 15-round magazines and fired “at least 12 rounds” during his attack.
Bouchard pointed out the 15-year-old had used the handgun for target shooting after his father purchased it, but stressed that there had been no “credible threats” prior to Tuesday’s attack.

Do we know the who is the shooter is yet?
So apparently, background check laws do not apply in Michigan. If I bought a gun on Black Friday in Washington State, I would be lucky to have it by Christmas.
Here in hoosierland, I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes
There had been reports that many students (black students?) stayed home that day because "something was going to happen". Is that just down the memory hole?
I'd like info on the shooter and the victims.
In some states the father could be charged for not securing the weapon and allowing access by a minor.......................
What a stupid comment.
Why is the time of purchase relevant? Would it have been better to use a handgun his grandfather purchased back in the 1960’s?
‘His parents “have hired a lawyer and are refusing to let law enforcement question him.”’
How can that be possible?
That’s it. For the sake of children we must ban black Friday. If we could save just one life. . .
re: “Bouchard ... stressed that there had been no “credible threats” prior to Tuesday’s attack.”
More ‘WORD GAMES’. Just HOW ‘credible’ does a threat have to be? On the front page of the NYTimes?
There were apparently rumors making there way through the student body that this kid was planning something, and some students STAYED HOME.

[Begin quote]
All of the law-abiding citizens featured in this database successfully defended their liberties, lives, or livelihoods with the lawful use of a firearm. These cases are not based on hearsay, but on verifiable reports found through public sources.
[Quote continued] According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost every major study on defensive gun use has found that Americans use their firearms defensively between 500,000 and 3 million times each year. There’s good reason to believe that most defensive gun uses are never reported to law enforcement, much less picked up by local or national media outlets.
[Quote continued] This database, therefore, is not intended to be comprehensive. Instead, it highlights just a fraction of the incredible number of times Americans relied on the Second Amendment—not the government getting there in time—to protect their inalienable rights. Despite the limitations on data, these confirmed cases of defensive gun use help prove that the “good guy with a gun” is not a myth, but an integral part of American society.

The media picks up shootings and sensationalizes it to do what they always do, viz. sensationalize their agenda. They never talk about anyone successfully using a firearm to protect their loved ones.
Back to the article. Prayers out for all the families and people hurt by this kid.
Washington State bites the bag.
>>How can that be possible?
The constitution?
I had to wait a week for a Mosin-Nagant
Every State has background checks for a sale from a dealer. Have you ever heard of NICS?
Communist States, such as yours, impose other restrictions. Michigan has more freedom than your communist hell hole.
Regardless, background checks would have done nothing here. The kid was evil. Evil people find ways to do evil things.
Background checks in free states take 2-3 minutes in most cases, some get delays of 30 minutes to 3 hours at most.
Because of the 5th Amendment.
Cancel black Friday
Law or no law, keeping weapons locked up away from kids is well known by some to be a good idea. Even if you think you can trust your kids not to be stupid, you can’t trust their little friends.
