Alec Baldwin discharged a prop firearm on the set of a Western he was making in New Mexico on Thursday, killing the film’s director of photography and wounding the movie’s director, the authorities said.

If Arec Baldwin shot two people at close range with blanks then *someone* is going to jail.
Was it part of a planned shot (so to speak) or was he screwing around?
prayers for the family of the man he killed. baldwin is an asswipe and was joking around and this will be claimed as an accident.
baldwin will then be a hero to the left for championing the cause of gun confiscation.
baldwin is an idiot and probably did not take a safety course.
i do not know any details but can guess it went down like this...
the scene needed baldwin to hit a certain mark on the set so the cinematographer and director were positionin baldmwin who had the gun in his hand.
when the director, standing beside the cinematographer said please, the cinematographer probably said something like “or else” and baldwin jokingly put the gun to the cinematographer’s temple and shot the blank that fires a paper “cap” at a great velocity several feet... killing the cinematographer and powder or concussive sound injured the director in the eyes or ears.
baldwin will be through. no one will work with him unless he goes on an anti gun tirade.

That said I have been around the filming of two TV shows where guns were used and the gun prop master had one rule that was strictly enforced - NO LIVE AMMO ON SET.

I agree with everything you’re saying, but the fact he fired the weapon twice should raise some serious questions. One would think he’d see the damage done after the first shot.

Prop Guns are loaded with blanks. Apparently not in this case.
Disregard my last… apparently this happened with one shot.
Officials say that an investigation is underway into how and what projectile was discharged from the prop gun during the fatal incident.
Perhaps Alec thought it would be funny to put something in the chamber on top of the blank, and shot at the two people as a joke, expecting them to be covered in chalk dust or whatever, but instead whatever he put on top of the blank became a "deadly projectile."

This is a man who has always been known for his anger issues. He was hitting on the cinematographer and she rebuffed his advances so he killed her. God knows how the director got hit too - trying to protect her from him?
Fantasy unexpectedly and suddenly becomes reality for a man who routinely acts in films glorifying gun violence, and yet while not acting calls for guns to be banned. He should reflect on that,

How does a blank from a prop gun kill one person and wound another?
Did he shoot once or more than once?
Why was he shooting at people who were not acting as part of a shooting scene?
Why was he shooting a prop gun, anyway?
If the claim is made that he didn’t intentionally shoot the gun, how did it go off?
