A British Conservative MP has died after being stabbed multiple times on Friday when meeting members of the public in his constituency.
Sir David Amess, 69, who represented Southend West in Essex, was fatally attacked at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea.
The father-of-five is the second sitting MP to be killed in such circumstances in five years, following the death of Labour MP Jo Cox in 2016 as she attended a constituency surgery.
According to Sky News, a man walked into the meeting place and “stabbed him multiple times.”

According to the BBC, Amess was known as a social conservative and a prominent campaigner against abortion.
Following his death, flags have been lowered to half-mast outside Parliament.

When will these people realize the madness behind trying to make the world safer by banning inanimate objects without memory, feelings, consciousness, morality... I have guns everywhere in my home. My kids grew up with guns. Maybe this is shocking news to some, but none ever went off unintentionally. They never spoke to me and made me hear voices to go attack someone. My personality doesn't change when I carry one. I don't have weird dreams even though I have some under my bed. My kids didn't become serial killers or cause a school shooting. Actually, nothing happened, ever. Because it's just a piece of metal, plastic or wood. People give a gun some mystical / magical attributes.
Meanwhile, the US and Europe is bringing in over a hundred thousand refugees from Afghanistan. Guess what will happen in a few years? But we're worried and arguing about magazine capacities or blade shape and length. You can't make that stupid shit up. This should be something for a Monty Python show, not the actual policies of nations.
Funny how the only politicians targeted for assassination these days are on the comparative right.
