It's not unusual for acquaintances to ask me if what they just heard on the news or read online is true. Did such-and-such really happen? Did so-and-so really say what they heard attributed to him on the news? These people aren't paranoid. Unfortunately, they're asking legitimate questions. Many journalists, for a while now, haven't been shy about revealing their biases. So who knows if what my friends just heard on TV or read in a news story is really true?

I've been a full-time working journalist since the late 1960s - and even I don't know what to believe anymore.
But journalists aren't the only ones who make us doubt the information we're getting from people in important places. Donald Trump didn't invent "fake news" or fake information, but you could make a case - and his detractors pretty much have - that he made Pinocchio look like Honest Abe by comparison.
In a free country such as ours, dishonesty at the highest levels of government is no small thing. If we can't trust the president, how do we know what to believe? How do we know what our government is really up to? People in power must be held accountable in a democracy - but that's not easy when you don't know what's true and what isn't.

I’m no fan of George W. Bush.
And I understand that there remains controversy about the WMD in Iraq.
But, basically, the heads of 17 intelligence agencies told President Bush that Saddam Hussein had WMD and we had to go and remove them. So we went there.
And, apparently, we didn’t find them
And ALL the journalists said Bush “lied”.
If it had. CNN or MSNBC would have covered it ...
C’mon, mannnnn, you can’t call the things a dementia victim says “lies.” Malarkey maybe.
Have some compassion for the feeble minded.
I had a co-worker once, that told us that she knew everything worth knowing, and also told us that only Democrats were intelligent. We called her “Miss Information”.
Or "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong".
I’ll defend Bush exactly as much as he defends us.
That said, I can answer the title:

It’s because we’re at war! We’re not winning. We won’t get our country back and or only hope is to split back into southern and northern states.

I have a friend who tells me she votes Democrat because they want to help people and Republicans only care about money. No amount of facts, history or statistics can dissuade her.
Oddly, after a horrid first marriage to a fellow democrat, she married a republican the next time and has been happy to be loved and cared for. But she still doesn’t get it 😔

Bernie, WHY are you expecting news sources to engage in actual JOURNALISM???
Because they do not think Biden’s demented ranting are lies
Inflation out of control so the Biden Democrats tell them we need to pour more trillions in Fed spending onto the inflation bonfire
Everything Biden screwed up in that last 9 months is the fault of “bad actors” and the “super rich”
Everything will be prefect if all these bad actors and Republican Governors would just stop fighting Biden an allow his “brilliant” agenda to be implemented
The level of lying and narcassitic infantile arrogance in one Biden speech or press conference is almost unbelievable unless you watch.
And the fact that all the WMD intelligence that was based on was developed to justify Clinton bombing the hell out of Iraq during his impeachment trial
Is there a reason those WMDs did not end up in some other country that was an ally to Saddam Hussein?
Why is it that US politicians who break/fail their oath to uphold and defend the US Constitution aren’t removed from office immediately? Why is it that a politician betraying their oath of office and the American people is now the norm in DC? Maybe it’s just me but I view this issue as important as election integrity.
Tucker Carlson did a recent interview and while talking about CNN’s purposeful lying, he admitted he lies sometimes, but not on his TV Show. Meaning, everyone lies at one time or another.
I saw three stories, MSN, CNN and (I think) Business Insider with pretty much the same headlines, Tucker Carlson admits in Interview that he Lies.
Context means nothing, and when you give the Left an inch it’s over. The Stories and the Comments were, you see, he lies! Faux News lies, blah, blah, blah.
It was the usual feeding frenzy. I’m surprised Tucker didn’t address the phony outrage on his Show.
