I would note that Executive Orders by a pResident apply to the Executive branch, and Executive branch employees, not to private individuals, companies, or businesses. I would also indicate that these are NOT LAWS. The left loves to act as though any pornonocement by Mr. pomposity has the status as a law. We need to disabuse them of this conceit!

You’re correct of course but Laz’s point remains valid I believe.

Consider: many leftists (and uninformed others) believe the mask mandates, local or state, are “laws” even though they’ve never been passed by any legislature.

The same applies here IMO. I can see Biden (or his handlers) invoking the Act as Laz described because some states refuse to abide by federal “law”, even though again as you correctly note an EO isn’t a “law”. (It drives me crazy every time I enter a store with a sign saying “per state LAW, we require patrons to wear masks to enter”.)

So not outside the realm of possibility, that the Insurrection Act could be so abused. Not at all. Would it eventually get sorted out in the courts? Maybe. But once troops start moving in, who’s to say?

I can tell you, right now... I have HAD, and survived Covid... and, I have been twice vaccinated. But, if my company REQUIRES employees to be vaccinated, I will resign.

I am, a relatively high level manager. I’m at the 200 person level in a company of 14,000. I will do it, immediately.
