If my electric car doesn’t explode I’m going to drive to town and get my covid19-24 shot.
No but they make *a* distributor for it. Their quality has also dropped, but that’s not the main problem with the system. They decided to mount the LT1 Optispark distributor to the front of the engine... below and behind the water pump, and where it’s exposed to a lot of water.

This is the MSD offering:
https://www.holley.com/products/ignition/distributors/chevrolet/parts/83811
It dies in about a year, right after the warranty expires.
These things have a one year warranty?
Yes, all MSD parts have a one year only warranty. https://documents.holley.com/msd_brand_warranties.pdf
This car is on its third distributor since it’s been here. $700 distributors being replaced on an annual basis is not sustainable, especially since it’s a giant PITA to replace.
Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to put it in a Carrion Bag?
So your fuel cost per mile is about half of my gasoline car.

“USE WATER TO FIGHT A HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY FIRE. If the battery catches
fire, is exposed to high heat, or is generating heat or gases, use large amounts of
water to cool the battery. It can take between approximately 3,000- 8,000 gallons
(11,356- 30,283 liters) of water, applied directly to the battery, to fully extinguish
and cool down a battery fire; always establish or request additional water supply
early. If water is not immediately available, use CO2, dry chemicals, or another
typical fire-extinguishing agent to fight the fire until water is available.
NOTE: Tesla does not recommend the use of foam on electric vehicles.
Apply water directly to the battery. If safety permits, lift or tilt the vehicle for more direct
access to the battery (see chapter 2). Water may be applied from a safe distance ONLY if a
natural opening (such as a vent or opening from a collision) already exists. Do not open the
battery for the purpose of cooling it.”

Wife has a 2018 GMC all wheel drive Acadia SUV.
GM took away the ignition key and I hate this feature...
I was in high school when I witnessed a baby die in the back
seat of her mom’s rear ended Volvo, as flames 15 feet high
rose over the rear end of the vehicle.
Yep, there were never fires in gasoline powered cars.
These types of articles are annoying. Accidents happened
before battery powered cars.
Yeah you’re right. And here in my part of NJ(south NJ) the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station is what supplies that juice for the entire southern half of New Jersey.
Boy, now that takes a lot of fancy book learnin’ to come up with that scheme.
Nuclear power to provide the juice for electric cars.
339 trees?? im trying to put the 2 together... ??
