Former President Donald Trump Sunday called on President Biden to “resign in disgrace” over his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and other issues.
“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy,” the former president wrote in a statement.
The Taliban has rapidly taken control of most of the country as insurgent forces enter the capital city of Kabul, where U.S. troops have been sent to evacuate the embassy.
Mobs of panicked people can be seen at the Kabul airport frantically trying to flee the city on Sunday.
Trump’s administration had negotiated the terms of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by May 1. Trump even considered withdrawing troops from the region before leaving office.
When President Biden announced that he planned to fully withdraw troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, the 20th anniversary of 9/11, he was slammed by Trump who insisted Biden “keep as close” as possible to his own goal of getting the troops out on May 1.
“I made early withdraw possible by already pulling much of our billions of dollars of equipment out and, more importantly, reducing our military presence to less than 2,000 troops from the 16,000 level that was there (likewise in Iraq, and zero troops in Syria except for the area where we KEPT THE OIL),” he said in an email to supporters in April.
Republicans have blasted Biden for the current crisis in the country, where the U.S. had maintained a presence for 20 years.
Biden was also criticized by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who told Fox News the situation would not have happened if Trump was still in

Bush the 2nd is ultimately to blame for pursuing nation building in Afghanistan. It never had a snowball chance in hell of bearing fruit. Iraq nation building was a long shot, but Afghanistan was an impossibility. They are a bunch of tribal islamics, and they are never going to be a governable nation.
Obama certainly continued the fiasco for 8 years by leaving our troops in place with ROEs that tied their hands, and needlessly left them open to get killed and maimed.
President Trump was working to get us out of the Afghanistan quagmire (although opposed on all sides by the Deep State), and ultimately we would have gotten out, and I have no doubt that Afghanistan would have fallen under Taliban domination in fairly short order,
BUT No, the transition would not have been this chaotic cluster muck that we are currently witnessing. We are witnessing Grade A incompetency (unless the current Administration's Mission really is to destroy America) - and NO we would not have seen this if President Trump was in charge.
We'd have extricated ourselves cleanly, and whether the Afghans decided to have themselves run by Talibanistas in a year, or so, that would have been their call.

Calling on a sitting President to resign is perfectly appropriate — and is a welcome rebuke from his predecessor.

I am under no delusion that our national security apparatus has a sole... my only hope is that they care about their own survival... because they are about to all be eaten along with the rest of us if they don’t crush Biden, his son, and the rest of the criminals in their ranks...there must be a reckoning and those who are evil within their ranks must be purged...if they don’t they will kill their host (The American citizen) and themselves. I fear they are too stupid and arrogant to understand that and they are going to kill us all because they can’t police their own. I have met these folks from time to time and the one characteristic among them all that drips from the conversation is arrogance... and that will get us all killed given the level of power we are talking about.
.... Well ..... In a few days we will here from Joey Biden who will tell us that this whole thing was actually Trump’s fault and that Joey did his best to control the nmiserable situation that Trump left in the wake of his Evil Presidency ....
