Kathy Griffin revealed she has lung cancer despite “never” smoking and will be undergoing surgery to have half of her left lung removed.
The comedian announced the news Monday morning in a lengthy note posted to social media, sharing that the cancer is stage 1 and “contained.”
“I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer. I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed,” she began her letter on social media. “Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked! The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung.”
Griffin, 60, said she’s hopeful that she won’t need to get chemotherapy or radiation treatment after the surgery and “should have normal function with my breathing.”

Saying cancer is caused by the lack of ethics is pretty evil. I’ve known nasty people lived to 99 and never got it and plenty of decent ones that died in their 40s and 50s from it.
I have a recording of Memphis Slim singing her “Downhearted Blues”.
The only problem is, Memphis Slim does the whole song in the 12-Bar Format, which does a disservice to Bessie Smith. The opening verse is NOT 12-Bar Blues, but a rather complex format using secondary and tertiary dominant chords. Contrary to popular opinion, Bessie Smith was a True Musician and a formidable Songwriter who broke the mold. Even her fellow Blues Giants didn’t understand her.
Gosh, I LOVE the Blues. Thanks for the reference. You brought back some amazing memories.

Internalized guilt is a leading cause of cancer. Generally, good people with a conscience get it. Not dirty rotten pricks who have no conscience.

Kathy Griffin, another denier. Even if she “never smoked” (an assertion that cannot be disproved), she certainly hung around those who did, and not even just innocuous tobacco, maybe even “vaping”.
After all those years in Catholic education so long ago, the lessons the sisters were trying to impress upon her are finally taking effect.
How kind of you. I do not wish illness upon anyone either. How about maybe more like what happened to Chrissy Teigen; self inflicted total loss of face and status
