A Century City home owned by Don Rickles, the late funnyman known for his insult comedy, just surfaced for sale at $6.5 million. It’s the first time the villa has hit the market since it was built three decades ago.
Following Rickles’ death in 2017, the home was owned by his widow, Barbara, who died earlier this year.
The 5,600-square-foot residence is one of 36 Mediterranean-style homes in Century Woods Estates, a guard-gated enclave tucked under the high-rise Century building. Earlier this year, the home of late actress Rhonda Fleming hit the market there for $12 million.
Gated and walled, Rickles’ villa is accessed by a private courtyard with multiple lounges and dining areas shaded by trees. An arched front door enters into the two-story foyer, which features a sweeping staircase and hardwood floors.

Is it shaped like a hockey puck?
When Foster Brooks roasted Rickles it was great and no one laughed more than Don Rickles did.
Long ago, I heard Don poke fun at himself. He had done a world tour, and he said,
“The Japanese are so polite. Everywhere I went people nodded and said, “Ah-so! Ah-so!”.
Saw Rickles in person in a small club. While he seems Nutty...he was closer to being like a grandfather. It was a great show.
Gordon Kaufmann did Scripps. Had to be him for Rickles’ place too, that Colonial Revival style is too close, it’s like a fingerprint.
“Oh great we have a seal in the audience!”
He was great as Don Adams’ side-kick in a few Get Smart episodes. Seemed to be good chemistry between them.
Thanks for the listing link! I hope all the photos on the wall in photo #16 convey.
Don Rickles is a legend...we’ll never see the likes of him again in today’s cancel culture society. Very nice home. But for that money I’d rather live water side or on a mountain somewhere instead of a concrete jungle surrounded by high rises.
$6.5 million for a crib in Los Angeles county insane.
Chicago west
The guy would leave me laughing so hard I’d be in tears.
And everyone was a target, from Sinatra to Lucille Ball to Reagan.
No one got a pass.
Awesome! President Reagan, Rickles, Jack Benny, a well-oiled Dean Martin and even Mark Spitz, I think. It doesn’t seem all that long ago...
From the story:
Shortly after Rickles’ death, his coastal estate in Malibu’s Point Dume sold to Equinox founder Donato Errico for $6.5 million.
He was honored at a tribute in LA once. He said, “and this is the home of the blacks. And I see three here. But there’s one more, he’s up in my hotel room robbing me.”
