I was living in the Philippines in 1969. In Manila, there is a place called MacArthur Park ( NO SURPRISE. Before Arnold, the General was the FIRST to say, “I’ll be BACK.” ) When I first heard Richard Harris’s, “MacArthur Park” on a local Filipino radio station I was IMPRESSED! Imagine a Top 40 Radio hit based on a park in Manila, Philippines .. . and YES, I HAVE been out in MacArthur Park in the rain !! NEVER did find THAT cake .. .

OK. This song, I believe was really about Philadelphia, but South Street went from one end of Lakewood and then into Long Beach. What Street? SOUTH Street. (It was also just a few blocks from where I grew up):
