House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) has announced that the House will vote on making Juneteenth a federal holiday on Wednesday.

The bill passed by unanimous consent in the Senate on Tuesday night, and it seems likely to pass the House, which would send the legislation creating the federal holiday to President Biden's desk.

Honestly What is Juneteenth? What is it to celebrate?

What illiterate coined the term “Juneteenth”? It makes no sense to a native speaker of English. Emancipation Day would make more sense. Even so, I'm against it. Negroes already have their special holiday, and the whole month of February besides.

Funny that Asian-Americans are part mainstream America and don't require a special holiday. They speak through their success and actions, such as respect for law, hard work, and devotion to family and education.

Celebrated on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the last remaining enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, being emancipated by Union soldiers. It is being recognized by a number of states on Friday, June 18, this year.

So, a holiday for a misinformed negro.
