Putin Asks Reporter If US 'Assassinated' Ashli Babbitt

Days ahead of his summit with President Biden in Geneva, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the United States was being hypocritical in its criticism of the way his country handles internal dissent.

During an interview with NBC News, Putin said Russia was no worse than the United States in this regard, and used the government's handling of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as an example.

He even pointed to the arrests of hundreds of suspects in the U.S. Capitol riot and the death of one rioter as proof that the U.S. also targets its citizens for their political opinions, just as Russia is accused of stifling dissent. (The FBI has arrested people for the violence inflicted on the seat of government in Washington, rather than for their political opinions.)

"We have a saying: 'Don't be mad at the mirror if you are ugly,'" he said. "It has nothing to do with you personally. But if somebody blames us for something, what I say is, why don't you look at yourselves? You will see yourselves in the mirror, not us."

Putin showed flashes of defiance when he was asked whether it was a "coincidence" that several other political rivals had been assassinated in recent years.

"We don't have this kind of habit, of assassinating anybody," Putin said when he was asked whether he ordered Navalny killed. (NBC News)

He then countered by asking whether the U.S. was guilty of assassinating Ashli Babbitt during the Capitol riot.

Democrats are stupid if they think shame, or fake military bluster will have any effect on Russia/Putin.

The only way to deal with Russia is financial/economic.

Russia has the troops, equipment, knowhow, and the will to mud wrestle with the US military anytime and place.

What they don’t have is the endless free money the US does.

That’s why Putin scares the hell out of Europe. He could roll over Europe in a few weeks, just to piss everyone off....He just couldn’t afford to hold it.

Leave Russia to their own devices, and just block them from any economic gains internationally....

Putin is more familiar with the Jan 6th event than 60% of Americans are.

I’ll say it: I like Putin.

Me too, for the same reason I like Trump.

Both men, whatever their flaws, are patriots to their country.

Putin being much more inherently likeable because he doesn't post mean tweets do I really need a sarchasm tag?

OTOH, Trump hasn't posted a mean tweet in quite a while!

Is Vladimir accusing someone of being a “killer?”

No, of being a "murderer".

I’d swap Biden for Putin and throw a handful of senators in on the deal.

Have any of them actually been charged or are they being held without formal charges? My guess would be that prosecutors filed all sorts of charges, knowing that none of them would stick, but would justify holding people.

Putin Asks Reporter If US 'Assassinated' Ashli Babbitt

Did the "Reporter" answer truthfully or did he try to Misdirect and change the Narrative to US Mainstream Media Propaganda?

(Relax, I know the answer.)

Putin loves his Country unlike Joementia Xiden.

I am not condoning Putin’s role in history, just stating a fact.

The thug arm of the democrat party (the press) works hard to make sure the whole truth is NEVER told...) Nice of Putin to give them a hard time about it...

Ever since I read Tom Clancy’s book “The Bear and the Dragon”
I have thought that some day the Russian and the American people would some day be allies.

We share two common rivals: China and Islamic extremists.

Russia does not need to invade Europe. It can control them with the natural gas and oil they need. That is also why Russia needs to control Syria. To keep a pipeline from the middle east from reaching Turkey/Europe.

By making oil and natural gas plentiful, the Trump administration controlled Russia and the middle eastern oil exporters. That is why it was silly to think that Putin would actually try to help get Trump reelected. Trump was costing Putin money.

But Putin is from the evil: Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia.

The Russians are always guilty, and the ChiComs are our buddies in the eyes and mouth of Xiden, his American thugs and even some Freepers!

Putin is a smart guy. The media hates Putin because (a) they believe the Chinese propaganda that Putin helped Trump win in 2016 and (b) he has traditional attitudes about homosexuals and other perverts, which includes nearly everyone at CNN if you think about it. That’s what this is all about.

Someone ask reporter Lear Barkoukis that if our government only arrested people for violence then how many Antifa and BLM protesters were arrested last year during those days of rioting ?

"(The FBI has arrested people for the violence inflicted on the seat of government in Washington, rather than for their political opinions.)"

The original author probably made that statement to get past the censors we have in America today.

Actually, Democrats who stormed congress, barged into Senator's offices, occupied statehouses, and even bombed the capital in the past were either not punished at all of given token sentences.

The people who disrupted the Kavanaugh hearings, or confronted Senators during that process were committing the same crimes that have resulted in many Republicans being held without bail and facing long prison terms.

The thousands of leftist people who rioted, burning cars and attacking Republicans during President Trump's inauguration and at other events in Washington during his term in office, including the people who threatened Senator Rand Paul and his wife have faced no punishment.

By contrast, conservatives and Republicans who simply push away a left wing protestor are prosecuted. What would be clear cases of self defense are almost universally taken as opportunities to prosecute people who are not BLM or Antifa supporters.

It is not credible to state that our justice system is not arresting people based on their political beliefs.
