We've Been Telling the Alamo Story Wrong for Nearly 200 Years. Now It's Time to Correct the Record
Time ^ | June 9, 2021 | Bryan Burrough

Imagine if the U.S. were to open interior Alaska for colonization and, for whatever reason, thousands of Canadian settlers poured in, establishing their own towns, hockey rinks and Tim Hortons stores. When the U.S. insists they follow American laws and pay American taxes, they refuse. When the government tries to collect taxes, they shoot and kill American soldiers. When law enforcement goes after the killers, the colonists, backed by Canadian financing and mercenaries, take up arms in open revolt.

COMMUNISM must destroy all of history. Why do we allow this to happen?

“Imagine if the U.S. were to open interior Alaska for colonization...”

What does he thing the Biden Admin is doing right now? Is he unaware that illegal aliens do not “...follow American laws and pay American taxes”? The only honest conclusion from his logic is that we should attack these ‘law breakers’.

TIME...for more hypocrisy.

We're supposed to forget that the brand new nation of Mexico (they set up their own country independent of Spain in the 1810's) didn't ask a bunch of Americans and offer free land if they moved into Tejas and become Mexicans as a buffer between the Comanches and mainland Mexico.

We're also supposed to forget that the first few presidents of Mexico were horribly corrupt -- so corrupt that that Mexico had to change the name of it's new nation (i.e. "First Federal Republic", "Centralist Republic") as it kept trying to rebrand itself as not as corrupt as the last guy.

And we're also supposed to forget that Santa Anna wormed his way into being head of state twice after being thrown out the first time for corruption. This enraged many Mexicans in many parts and encouraged rebellions all over, not just Tejas.

Lastly we're supposed to forget that Anna ordered the removal of a cannon that was meant to protect the Tejans from the persistently attacking Comanches. You know, part of the agreement to the Americans when they were asked to move to Texas to begin with. Basically, the Texans had their own Paul Revere type "redcoats are coming to take our guns" moment -- what the Texans have immortalized by telling Annas to "come and take it".

The liberals would have us believe that Texas had been part of Mexico for meelyuns and meelyuns of years. When in fact Texas seceded from Mexico in the 1830's as fairly and squarely as Mexico had seceded from Spain just two decades prior.

Using this reasoning, we should return France to the German nazis.

Thankfully I read many of the books of the Alamo back in the early 1960s before the revisionists cast their evil eye on it.

It’s not the fault of Americans that Mexicans weren’t interested in moving to TX until it was tamed and made livable by Americans.

That is what happened with Rhodesia.

Until it was developed it was not populated by the local tribes.

Once there was infrastructure they came pouring in.

They overwhelmed the infrastructure, took over and turned it into a disaster.

>>Revisionists are coming after the Alamo now.<<
I'm afraid we're losing our country. After the folks 50+ years old die off...the country will be re-made.

Younger generations know little of American history much less Texas history. They are ignorant of the sacrifices made to secure freedom and liberty. Globalist/communists/what-ever-ists are working overtime to make this happen.

I hold a biblical world view, so I see the spirit of the anti-christ at work. One world government, one world religion, everyone citizens of the world. No national sovereignty.

Others may see it in other ways, but the theme remains the same. A relatively small group of wealthy elites, oligarchs seeking to control those classes of people of lower social-economic stature.

I remember when Trump spoke from the podium, “America will NEVER be a socialist country”. Well, those mentioned previously are seeking to prove him wrong.

Spending us into collapse. Flooding this nation with the world's poorest of the poor. Federal government facilitating the distribution of illegals throughout the nation in the dark of night, particularly into red states.

Hate to sound so cynical, but I believe we are losing the culture war, the war for the heart of America. Not sure how to turn it around.

The divide between left and right is so wide now. I cannot see a way forward as a unified nation. I just can't see it.

Your thoughts?

Not going to click on the Time’s link, but I am also assuming that Time did not mention that Mexican authorities threw Steven Austin into prison just for asking to have a little more self-governance.

In 1836, it was quite a trip to travel from San Antonio to Monterrey just to get government permission to do something.

Then again, Time seems to think it okay to lock up American citizens for months without bail while they await trial for a simple trespassing charge.

So, did George P. Bush write this? He’s been trying to revise Alamo history for a long time. Last time he tried, Texans kicked his ass.

Wonder if he will include this tidbit of Mexican History.
Upon seizing power...

“Several states openly rebelled against the changes including Alta California, Nuevo México, Tabasco, Sonora, Coahuila y Tejas, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Durango, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Yucatán, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Zacatecas. Several of these states formed their own governments: the Republic of the Rio Grande, the Republic of Yucatán, and the Republic of Texas.”—https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_L%C3%B3pez_de_Santa_Anna

Santa Anna overthrew them all till he ran up against Texas.

Spain owned Texas for 200+ years but never could settle Texas. The Comanche and Apache Indians were too much for them. Mexico gained it’s independence in 1821. Texas declared independence in 1835. Mexico like Spain before them never settled Texas again the Comanche and Apache Indians would not allow it. Then Mexico invited Steven Austin to bring in white US settlers to settle Texas. And Austin did just that. That means Mexico nominally “owned” Texas for 14 years. Mexicans did not settle Texas, Mexican did not take on the Comanche and Apache Indians. Texans from the USA did. Santa Anna wanted to piggy back on the work of Texans and claim what he never could do on is own. Texans rightly told him to go to hell. The rest is history.

On a side note Andy Jackson had a lot of troops waiting La to take out Santa Anna and Sam Houston was doing his best to get his army to La until his men revolted and attacked Santa Anna on the own. As above, The rest is history.

Wait! Is this an analogy about the muzz slime invasion and creation of sharia no-go zones?
