Wonder if he will include this tidbit of Mexican History.
Upon seizing power...

“Several states openly rebelled against the changes including Alta California, Nuevo México, Tabasco, Sonora, Coahuila y Tejas, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Durango, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Yucatán, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Zacatecas. Several of these states formed their own governments: the Republic of the Rio Grande, the Republic of Yucatán, and the Republic of Texas.”—https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_L%C3%B3pez_de_Santa_Anna

Santa Anna overthrew them all till he ran up against Texas.

The author of this stupid article is as full of sh** as a Thanksgiving turkey-and he needs to keep his revisionist nose out of OUR REAL Texas history...

My ancestors got here awhile back-left Spain for the new world in the late 16th century-sometime in the late 1700’s, they had decided the area that is now Texas and New Mexico was far enough away from civilization-and the greedy Spanish crown-to keep their goats, sheep and grow some food crops, since the Spanish soldiers and tax collectors were not liked by any of the resident Indians-so a nice buffer as long as the Indians were not encroached upon...

If they remained friendly and traded with those same Indians, everything was apparently cool until Santa Ana came along-when that happened they got together with the Anglos who came from the southern US, declared independence, armed up and the rest is history-nobody did any wrong to Mexico-they were ruled by a greedy dictator-just the kind of government my ancestors left the Spanish Pyrenees and got on a ship to the new world to get away from-so hell no they weren’t going to kiss Santa Anas’ ass...

This guy Burrough is obviously neither an Anglo nor a Hispanic Tejano/native-out here, we still say “you’re not from around here, are you?” to obvious outsiders like him-and it is not a friendly question...
