Vice President Kamala Harris in Guatemala Monday warned potential migrants not to flock to the US border — saying they will be turned away if they do.
“I want to emphasize that the goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home, at the same time I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making the dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border — do not come, do not come,” she said.
Harris’ comments came at a joint press conference with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei in her first visit abroad since being appointed by President Biden to lead the administration’s efforts to stem the southern border crisis that has seen a massive spike in illegal immigration since he took office.

That’s one way to stop overpopulation.
Was that before or after she saw all the “go home” signs.
Okey dokey, next problem.
Willie Brown: “I won’t. I promise.”
Did she say it in English or Guatamalan?

Antiwar sign during Vietnam: LBJ. Pull out. Like your father should have.

Well, that’s settled. They won’t be coming anymore. Thank goodness.
What was Mickey Mantle’s batting average in 1953?
Did she say this in English or Guatemalan........
I had no idea and thought only Spanish would be the answer, but....There are 25 languages spoken in Guatemala. Spanish is the official and most spoken language. In addition, there are 22 different Mayan languages as well as two other indigenous languages - Garífuna and Xinca.
K’iche’ language, formerly spelled Quiché, member of the K’ichean (Quichean) subgroup of the Mayan family of languages, spoken in the western highlands of central Guatemala by nearly one million people.
Thank you. You posted a more appropriate Willie Brown remark than I would have.

Trump says immigrants ‘unhappy’ with detention centers should stay home
By Makini Brice
6 MIN READ
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump, facing renewed criticism from Democrats and activists over his handling of a migrant crisis on the U.S.- Mexico border, said in a Twitter post on Wednesday that immigrants unhappy with conditions at detention centers should be told “not to come.”
So when Trump tells them to stay home, he’s the bad orange man. But ok when Kamala says it.
English words… None are offensive… But context is important!
It’s not what they say (we know they were losing the PR battle on illegal immigration). Watch what they do.
