Critical Race Theory: What It Is and How to Fight It [Thus far, attempts to halt the encroachment of critical race theory have been ineffective.]

--snip---

What does critical race theory look like in practice? Last year, I authored a series of reports focused on critical race theory in the federal government. The FBI was holding workshops on intersectionality theory. The Department of Homeland Security was telling white employees they were committing “microinequities” and had been “socialized into oppressor roles.” The Treasury Department held a training session telling staff members that “virtually all white people contribute to racism” and that they must convert “everyone in the federal government” to the ideology of “antiracism.” And the Sandia National Laboratories, which designs America’s nuclear arsenal, sent white male executives to a three-day reeducation camp, where they were told that “white male culture” was analogous to the “KKK,” “white supremacists,” and “mass killings.” The executives were then forced to renounce their “white male privilege” and write letters of apology to fictitious women and people of color.

This year, I produced another series of reports focused on critical race theory in education. In Cupertino, California, an elementary school forced first-graders to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, and rank themselves according to their “power and privilege.” In Springfield, Missouri, a middle school forced teachers to locate themselves on an “oppression matrix,” based on the idea that straight, white, English-speaking, Christian males are members of the oppressor class and must atone for their privilege and “covert white supremacy.” In Philadelphia, an elementary school forced fifth-graders to celebrate “Black communism” and simulate a Black Power rally to free 1960s radical Angela Davis from prison, where she had once been held on charges of murder. And in Seattle, the school district told white teachers that they are guilty of “spirit murder” against black children and must “bankrupt [their] privilege in acknowledgement of [their] thieved inheritance.”

When I say that critical race theory is becoming the operating ideology of our public institutions, it is not an exaggeration—from the universities to bureaucracies to k-12 school systems, critical race theory has permeated the collective intelligence and decision-making process of American government, with no sign of slowing down. ---snip--

Use Critical Marxism Theory to combat it.

Clue me in.

I'm at the school board meeting, as a parent. Speaker is self-proclaimed "anarchist" teaching English, promoting dialogue through teaching contemporary "novels" that show "disenfranchised" and "minority" experiences. Now what?

CMT has apparently not been developed yet. Just deconconstruct Marx and Marxism using Critical Theory.

e.g.:

Critical Marxist Theory says that Marxists are the Oppressors.

Marx was White and therefore everything he ever said or wrote is Racis’.

Marxism is part of Western Civilization and therefore needs to be rejected to achieve Utopia.

I dunno. Sounds simplistic. tit-for-tat. They talk a mile a minute, with a sense of morality and I’m not sure they understand that as hypocrisy.

I certainly couldn’t use the word Marx—that would make me guilty of trying to be intellectual.

You’d best get your child out of that school because there is no arguing with these people. Let’s say the speaker is not just an example but for real. They are into this stuff because it makes them feel superior, ore woke, better, higher-class etc. Just call them on it.

As in,’what makes you better than me to be lecturing me like that? Who gave you a license to set yourself up as perfect? You’re not higher-class or superior to me...etc. Address the real situation, not the phony ‘anti-racism’ cover that these people present, they’re really saying “I am better than you and I can order you around’. Address that.

Then, get your child away from people who push propaganda as ‘novels’ or ‘stories for children’ etc. because you will find your child is forever turned off of reading. They will not read, they will escape to video games or anything that gets them away from books that tell them they’re bad. It will destroy their love of literature forever. You don’t want that.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t have children in public school. But a feel for the student whose parent complained.

CRT is advancing because it was under the radar. But the more people know about it, the more it will be opposed.

It’s anti-white racism, an excuse to hate and discriminate against whites, and take their stuff.

This is a struggle. Lots of jargon and word twisting and word flipping. Just when students need to learn vocabulary.

There we go! That’s it.

CRT = hatred of whites.

Last time I checked, I didn’t ask to be born this color.

I just was, and I had no choice in it.

Therefore, I will not be blamed nor hated upon by others because of something I have NO control over.

We’re all passengers. God’s driving. Get over it.

It is nothing more than warmed-over Nazi race theory with white people replacing Jews as the object of hatred and ultimately mass murder.

Eccl. 1:9 says there is nothing new under the sun, that everything that has been said has been said before.

Seems like God knew what He was talking about.

CRT is an antiquated video screen format. "Critical Race Theory" is blatant repackaged Marxism where the Have and Have-Nots are replaced with Caucasions and 'People of Color'. About one hundred million murdered people would attest it's failure if they could.

Great to see you're still around, Nea.

I’m 68 years old. I am a Viet vet. During that time, there were Negro spiritual leaders at home teaching that the Vietnam War wwas “ a white man’s war, and why should they (the Negroes) even be involved in it?” To me, that was anti-American and pro-Communist thinking. Then, in 1975, at Dover AFB, Delaware, ALL the Negro enlisted personnel held a ‘sit-in’ inside the base chow hall, during day shift operational hours, midweek. This held up aircraft maintenance, cargo operations, and flight and recovery of cargo aircraft. They were all arrested, and summarily discharged for bad conduct within a week. (Military justice was swift. This was no 1st Amendment issue. They interrupted airbase functions.)
Also, in 1975, a “Human Relations Program” with mandatory attendance, week-long, was started. It was a baby step of this ‘critical’ junk of today. I have always believed that any person can rise to their potential by themselves, if they want it bad enough, without help. As a warehouse supervisor, I’ve seen it, AND, the reverse, too.
My krewe were all WAF’s!! English, Asian, Negro, and Puerto Rican. They did their jobs. They, of course, as I did, have ‘their days’. We got the job done.

No one can convince me this ‘newspeak/newthink’ is worthwhile, needed, and going to fix things.

It is just one more spoonful to the recipe for the projected explosive backlash, in the future.

The article jumps from Marxism to CRT. It completely skips over Critical Theory which arose in 1930's Germany. A good description of the origins of Critical Theory is:

Critical Theory was initially developed in Horkheimer's circle to think through political disappointments at the absence of revolution in the West, the development of Stalinism in Soviet Russia, and the victory of fascism in Germany. It was supposed to explain mistaken Marxist prognoses, but without breaking Marxist intentions.

Critical Race Theory simply replaces the "societal structures and cultural assumptions" that oppress with all things white. The oppressed become all things not white.

CRT does have Marxist roots, but is not a direct outgrowth.
