Employers are allowed to require the COVID-19 vaccine, and can also legally provide incentives, including cash, to workers who get jabbed, according to updated guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Companies must still provide reasonable accommodation for employees who are exempt from mandatory immunization under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
The commission also stated that employer incentives must not be "coercive," but stopped short of providing examples of illegal offers.
Some experts say there's enough legal gray area that a flurry of lawsuits could arise as companies start to bring their workers back to the physical workplace as the COVID-19 pandemic eases in the U.S.
IF employer requires jab & employee gets sick or dies from jab-—EMPLOYER is responsible.
Seriously... being shut out of society is becoming more and more appealing. We are closer everyday to selling the suburb house and just living full time at the ranch.
The vaccine cards are easy to fake. There isn’t even an active mechanism to verify what the card says.
“selling the suburb house and just living full time at the ranch.”
I’m jealous! “The ranch.”
Triple wrote: “Federal law prohibits requiring medicine available under EUA.”
What law?
Fact check: Federal law does not prevent states, businesses, employers from requiring COVID-19 vaccines
The claim: Employers, businesses and the government can’t mandate COVID-19 vaccines until they’ve been evaluated for two yearss from requiring COVID-19 vaccines
The law says nothing about a required two-year evaluation period before states and businesses can require vaccination. That figure may stem from clinical trial protocol for the coronavirus vaccines.
Every time I read or hear of the EEOC it makes me think of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and it's Equalization of Opportunity law. The EEOC reminds me that we have such a long way to go to make things right in America. Private property rights, that includes businesses, need to be restored. The government needs to stop telling business owners how to run their businesses.
As much as I am against businesses making employees and customers wear masks, social distance, and now get the jab, I think it is their right to do so. It is also my right not to frequent those businesses or be employed by one. Silence from government would be perfectly fine and it would save lots of tax dollars. The EEOC should be making law by exempting businesses from the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. (There shouldn't even be an ADA or Civil Rights Act, which by the way, the EEOC was established.) The EEOC should not be suggesting or encouraging businesses to require their employees to do anything, especially to get jab.
America has such a long way to go. There's 57 years of crap to over come with just the the EEOC. Most Americans do not even recall a time when businesses did just fine without out the EEOC. The EEOC is so ingrained in the fabric of business that people believe there is such a thing as "equal employment opportunity". Well, there isn't. We may be born with equal rights, but people are not equal in any other respect. They do not have equal opportunity because some people are blessed with more talent that provides greater opportunity and others are blessed only with the ability to shovel shit in Louisiana.
In the same paragraph that says “hate speech” is criminal./s
Eff the EEOC.
5 times last year I had complaints to the EEOC over Indian recruiter hiring practices. Wasted all 5 times I went to the Denver office to file my case. You would think under the Trump administration, Americans had a chance to prevail. Nope.
Was told that Indian companies are considered minority-owned companies in the US, and that they are actively allowed to discriminate against White Americans, although they hire/ place nearly 100% Indians or other South Asians (rare)
If your company demands you take the shots as a requirement for your employment, they are LIABLE. Sue, Sue, Sue.
That's my plan. If I wanted, I could have a good job offer in writing by middle of next week. In fact a friend at another company brought up an opening they have just last week. It wasn't a straight-up offer, more of a letting me know that if I wanted to... and no, they are not the kind of company that would ever require an experimental vaccine.
THAT was my first thought...certain minorities may especially have a problem with this.
This is one more piece in a mounting pile of reasons for employers who have the option of keeping people working from home NEVER to bring them back to an office.
It would be nice to think, but the EEOC and most of government are part of the deep state. Government is so immense that there is no way to control it. It is just better to get rid of the vast majority of government. I firmly believe people would figure a better way than looking towards government for solutions if government just wasn't there.
People that took the shot won’t need to worry about that either.
I just found out my 44 year old cousin took it. So did his parents. I love them, but that was a very stupid thing to do.
The Wuhan virus will turn out to be the best friend the fascists (Democrats) ever had. Masks, social distancing, vaccinations, and politically acceptable science are just the beginning.
I can see it as a requirement for new hires but existing employees? Probably not. My employers is strongly recommending we get vaccinated but it haven’t shown any indication that they’ll require it. I can see them requiring masks for the un-vaccinated but that’s it.
Yeah. Everybody who isn’t dumb knew that already. Companies can make you get the MMR and can refuse to hire smokers. This was decided decades ago and everybody saying otherwise was talking out their butt.
See post #40.
Very interesting how the fact checkers lean liberal, isn’t it?
Conservatives generally read the law, and let the writing be the resource.
Liberals read the law, and call it a ‘grey area’ which requires a ruling by the courts.
Still, I don’t see the court system eventually ruling in favor of forced injections with an experimental substance.
Shedding is an anti-vax lie. There’s no such thing, don’t be dumb.
