More than 1,100 offi­cers from pub­lic safe­ty agen­cies across Min­neso­ta have also been brought in to help stem any poten­tial unrest, as the city waits with bat­ed breath over a ver­dict in Chau­vin’s trial.

A ver­dict could be returned as ear­ly as the end of this week, after clos­ing argu­ments began in the tri­al as of Mon­day morning.

The for­mer Min­neapo­lis police offi­cer is fac­ing charges of sec­ond-degree unin­ten­tion­al mur­der, third-degree mur­der, and third-degree manslaughter.

All three of the charges are sep­a­rate, mean­ing he could be found guilty of all, some, or none of them.

Ahead of a poten­tial acquit­tal, some busi­ness­es have even hired pri­vate secu­ri­ty firms to guard their premis­es through any protests or riots.

I think because the age demographic of FreeRepublic is skewed to the older cohort, there is a detachment from how significantly the demographics have changed in the country in the last 25 years. This isn’t your granddaddy’s military... trust me. It’s populated by tons and tons of urban ‘yutes’, woke females and soft white boys. The tough farm boy soldier, etc. mythos belongs to a bygone era and is an extreme minority in today’s military. The military is run more like google or a silicon valley woke tech company. The US military will do whatever the Fed Gov tell them to do when the SHTF... they are not our allies.
