Mike Pence Breaks His Silence on Election

Too little too late… we don’t want to hear it…
Former Vice President Pence on Wednesday criticized the 2020 election in his his first extended written comments since leaving office in January.
Pence said there were “significant voting irregularities” and “numerous instances of officials setting aside state election law” in the 2020 presidential election.
The remarks were offered by Pence in an op-ed published by the Daily Signal, a publication run by the conservative Heritage Foundation. The context was an attack on H.R. 1, a voting rights bill the House is expected to pass on Wednesday, that Pence said would “increase opportunities for election fraud.”
" “Many of the most troubling voting irregularities took place in states that set aside laws enacted by state legislatures in favor of sweeping changes ordered by governors, secretaries of state, and courts.”“While legislators in many states have begun work on election reform to restore public confidence in state elections, unfortunately, congressional Democrats have chosen to sweep those valid concerns and reforms aside and to push forward a brazen attempt to nationalize elections in blatant disregard of the U.S. Constitution.”
Mike Pence can kiss my ass.
He had zero authority to do any such thing. The states decide which electors represent them. The voters do not. If the states hold a lottery and select electors that way, that’s constitutional. If they have people fight American Gladiator style to become electors, that’s constitutional. If they pick names out of a hat, that’s constitutional.
Whoever is selected by a state as an elector is the constitutionally recognized vote-caster in the electoral college. Mike Pence had neither the responsibility nor the authority to fix the states’ problems with election integrity. Mike Pence had one option per the US Constitution: count the electoral votes submitted by the individual states. There is zero provision in the US Constitution to decide that some votes don’t count or are invalid. If Mike Pence tried to do that, it would have zero effect because there is no authority for anyone to do that.
The states choose the electors. Nobody else does. Those electors cast whatever votes they choose. Nobody can stop them. And the VP’s one and only job is to count the votes received from those electors. Anything else is pure fantasy with zero legal basis.
Nice try, Mike. Too little, too late.
As far as I’m concerned, you’re a traitor. You certainly screwed over your boss. And the millions of Americans who voted for him. Myself included.
There are times in history when men of high character and courage are called upon to act—and lead.
“You know, it’s kind of cold and snowy out, that river looks awfully rough and could tip over my boat, and, well, it IS Christmas time......let’s just call it a night.”
If Mike Pence had been advising George Washington on the evening of December 25, 1776.......
You mean the whistleblower account ****that a great many on FR are trashing***
But you’re right.....could be a connection
My opinion is that he could of said unless directed from the supream court to certify the election at this point I cant certify becouse of irregularities in the election....that would of forced the supream court to look at the issues... I am not a lawyer so any lawyer in here please correct me if I am wrong in the assumptions on law I am masking.
Or Ike on June 5th, 1944.
He chose poorly. He needs to go away, and never come back.
Read later.
To quote Ann (Mother) Richards: “you kin stick a fawark in him. He’s done”.
Why hasn’t the Supreme Court demanded a correction to the unconstitutional rules enacted at the state levels?
He is confessing to certifying fraud.
*************
Bingo!
He didn’t have the courage to do the right thing. He would rather condone fraud than fight it.
He’s talk in a high minded manner but acts in a low way.
Oh, that ship has sailed, nobody in the base can stand after his ridiculous and cowardly certification of a fraud election. He had a golden opportunity to be great, and chose otherwise. Very sad.
Yeah that ship sailed a long time ago.
Pence is a man of high standards who managed to hang himself between two of them.
Loyalty to the fellows in the company (the .gov) and suspected not not conclusively proven election fraud.
He managed to commit career suicide and anger all around him. The .gov was demanding he remove Trump immediately, and his own party was demanding he deal with the fraud. By doing neither, he ended up with no friends and probably no future.
Cowardice, courage, or just plain fear lead him to this place. Ultimately, it didn’t matter. History called, and he didn’t answer.
Pence is a very unstable man, unfit to govern anything. He capitulated in no time on reminding the newly-passed conscience and religious freedom law as Indiana governor, for no good reason. Trump chose poorly.
Pence caved to the alphabet soup lobby as governor of Indiana. What he did when given the chance to act was absolutely no surprise at all.
Any dispute lies OUTSIDE of his duty.
He’s not a viable ‘24 candidate. He would have been on the short list of ‘24 front runners if he were the VP right now in a 2nd term, but that ship has sailed. Trump is never going to back him now, and without the the MAGA base, he doesn’t stand a chance. The Trump-Pence end-of-term falling out isn’t atypical. Bush ‘43 and Cheney fell out at the end, over Scooter Libby IIRC. And Clinton and Gore falling out over the ‘00 loss, with Gore blaming Clinton’s scandals (Lewinsky et al) and Clinton rejecting blame and accusing Gore of being a lousy candidate.
He hasn't got a snowball's chance of hell in winning anything in the GOP.
These RINOs must actually think that Trump voters are going to forget their treachery of turning a blind eye to Dem election fraud in 2020.
