Sen. Ted Cruz released photos of himself on Twitter delivering water and meeting with Texans amid the growing controversy over the Republican lawmaker’s jetting off to tropical Cancun last week as his constituents in the Lone Star State were battling a deep-freeze, widespread power outages and burst pipes that flooded homes.
The pictures, posted on his Twitter account Saturday, showed the embattled senator carrying a case of water to several vehicles and shaking hands with a person.
He wrote “Texas Strong” in the tweet.

They shouldn’t waste their time and energy.
PDJT understands that, and it’s one of the many reasons I admire him.
Ted votes the right way almost always but he’s a lousy politician. Either tell the media to go eff themselves, ask where the phony president is or don’t go on vacation during the ice storm in the first place.
Well said. Snarky. But well said.
>> Don’t act like an effing politician. <<
If you think of Ted Cruz as a high school debater who never grew up, it explains everything he says and does...
> Do you think every 75 year old is smart enough to understand that, or that people actually read a 5 page small type document? <
You make very good point,Trump... . I don’t know what it’s like in Texas. But in my neck of the woods (a rust-belt state) these variable-rate companies are nothing more than predators. They make a big point of telling folks two things:
1. We will save you money.
2. You will still be with your old, regulated power company.
As to point #1, yes, they will save you a couple of dollars each month. But as soon as your trial period is up, your rates will shoot upward. And good like trying to quickly cancel. You’ll have better luck trying to contact Jimmy Hoffa.
As to point #2, that’s misleading to the point of being a lie. Yes, you’ll still be with your old power company. But only for power delivery! You’ll be with the new company for power generation. About that, see point #1.
I’ve never been nicked by this legal scam. But I know those who have.
And it amazes me that no one has stepped forward to shine a light on this. I guess there’s no money in that.
The powertochoose.org site also puts variables at the top of the list since usually they are cheaper too. It’s a big scam all around.
Unfortunately, the media demands action pictures. Plenty of people around to do the task.
Let them freeze. That's it...make them suffer. It builds character. /s
He’s just one of those people who are brilliant in some ways and totally inept at real life.
As you probably know, most Internet rating sites are complete scams. Companies pay to get the ratings they want.
But there is at least one exception. Over the years I have found ‘Yelp’ to be very trustworthy. Of course who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Most of the raters on Yelp despise the variable-rate companies.
Kind of like Cruz pulling Houston police off protecting/helping people to escort him & family to the airport? 😖
You’re going to hear that pure shlubs stuck with multi-thousand dollar bills brought it on themselves.
Doesn't he have an apartment or somewhere he stays when the Senate is in session during the week? As far as I know, it was cold here last week but everyone had heat and power. No reason the family couldn't have stayed in the DC area and doubt anyone would have complained.
But....Heidi has this really hot red bikini she was just DYING to show off!
And Calif. has too many restrictions....would cramp her & her props style 😣😠
i was thinking more in terms of the power political move would have been to send the kids off to relatives who have power and Heidi and Ted become the couple rolling up their sleeves and helping out the ravaged constituents.
that would have been the play
but he is too stupid to think of it and Heidi too elitist.
Great. I’m sure 82 year old Granpop knew all about the risks of variable energy pricing spikes. Screw him.
FGS! Stop lumping all seasoned citizens into one pile!
We’re not all helpless, mentally challenged fools 🤬
I’m pretty seasoned myself and I can understand butterfly spreads and triple-net leases.
But I’d hardly impute financial sophistication to the typical consumer...especially the elderly bombarded with sleazy pitches from utility wholesalers.
Not just the left.....
