I most certainly didn’t speak for Rush. But I certainly think he would have laughed at the idiots that think people shouldn’t try to catch a break from the cold.

Remember George Bailey when the bank run happened as he was leaving for his honeymoon? He stayed. Fiction but what American’s expect of honorable men (or at least they used to).
God bless.

Yeah I agree. There are certain people who find fault with everything Cruz does. There was once a time when only Dems did that. But Trump brought a lot of Dems into the GOP and they brought their prejudices with them.

I guess Rudy could have gone off to Florida right after 9/11, but he didn’t.

Comparing a mayor who actually can directs and authorizes a response to a city's disaster to a US Senator who can do really NOTHING about a State's power issue, does not seem like a show of brilliance.

When half the state’s freezing for a week and will also have their homes need to be rebuilt cause of this, running away during all that is about as bad a move as possible.

Cruz has some real problems with his optics.

I'll say ... in the 2016 GOP debates he made a smarmy comment to Trump about "New York values" which was meant to discredit Trump from the rest of the nation. But this debate was before the NY, NJ, CT primaries took place, and while I was watching the debate with a friend, a fellow NY Republican voter, I immediately said that Cruz just lost New York as well as New Jersey and Connecticut in the primaries.
What a stoopit comment on his part, as he just lost 3 major northeastern states with one stoopit attack on a political rival.

It doesn’t matter if it was pre-planned or spur of the moment. In today’s world perception is nine-tenths the law now.

I am not sure you are right. I see plenty of people here excusing this and saying he did nothing wrong.

It typifies the DC elitist crowd.

And Fake Mexican Beto is making sure he is helping out even though he isn’t a Senator.

I have a young conservative in the middle of this mess who was not prepared for it. Slept in his car for warmth. Doesn’t have much food because he doesn’t listen to his older and wiser semi-prepper relative. When hearing about Cruz he said “what an (donkey)”

My employer has canceled family vacations for much less.

One time they ordered a guy to leave his honeymoon early because of a major outage.

I have had plans blown up at the last minute by every job I have EVER worked. From farm kid to fry guy at Hardees to plant management. When the emergency happens, you don’t blow it off.

So no, you DON’T go to Cancun if your electorate is starving, freezing, and pooping into plastic bags. You work the problem.

“Cruz, has done nothing wrong here....except create an optic that can and has now been exploited by the MSM and the opposition.”

True, but in an Age of Gullibility where perception *is* reality, optics count for a lot among a low information public whose conclusion are formed by junk media, this is a *really* bad look unless he goes on the offensive skillfully. But I fear he has neither the temperament nor skills for the task. It might be right or wrong but it is simply foolish to not recognize the battle terrain.

British news orgs are better than American rags at getting news that is going on in the United States, especially when the LSM in the states tends to cover things up. Bring on the Brits. I also even check the Jerusalem Post occasionally.

If you ask me, the conservatives are Republican in Name Only.

Duplicitous closet liberal backstabbers are the True Republicans.

Daily Mail has plenty of stories about Biden and his admin.

People thought it was just Trump. Nope. You will see same kind of stories on Biden and his misadventures

Why should he not go where it’s warm for awhile? What good does it do for him to sit and shiver in Texas? Nothing he as a senator can do anything about.

Blah,,,blah,,,,blah...blah...de blah, BLAH!

Good for Ted,

Can’t blame him for not wanting to sit shivering in his home with wife and kids, without power, freezing to death for days.

America’s Freedom is a biatch to accept, is it not?

Everybody here would go if they could.

Hypocrits.

Exactly what is Cruz supposed to do about the power outage? That is not something he as a senator can help with. I’m sure this was a pre-planned vacation, as they have to work around the Senate schedule. This is hardly like the mayor of Austin telling people to stay home for the holidays while he is in Mexico...

Remember George Bailey when the bank run happened

IT WAS HIS BANK! Is Cruz the ERCOT director? Is he the governor? Does he control the National Guard? Does he run a power company? Does he make decisions for Texas's electrical gird? What exactly could Cruz do? ANSWER - NOTHING OF REAL CONSEQUENCE.
