Remove the mask, face shields and gloves mandate (it’s by school at the college-level, and district at the elementary/secondary level), and teachers/ faculty will love to come back and teach.
Before that mandate is eliminated, 99% will say no. Wearing that Communist garbage 6 to 8 hours a day is impossible and likewise makes learning impossible. We signed up to teach, not to work in a medical operating room theater.
Seems this mask mandate is going over equally as well with team truck drivers. They are forced to mask nearly 24 hours a day and hate it. Surprised there hasn’t been a strike yet.
I get it. Last year I did 11 straight weeks of teleworking. The first couple were great - reminded me of my consultant days working out of a home office. By about week 5 or 6 I realized I was more ready to retire than I would have ever admitted. January 2020, loved my job, you would have had to drag me away from it. By May, if I could have, I’d have turned in papers. We’re back, to a limited extent, but with even more than the usual Mikey Mouse BS. I’m ready to drop 2 weeks notice most days.
It’s also a lot of the cowardly morons who run the big companies such as the one I work for. Going on nearly a year since these fools locked us all out and forced us to work from home. Scumbags.
How on earth did kids develop into productive, sane adults before 150 years ago?

Back in school this year and rocking the Honor Roll again.
We lost so much due to the China Virus. My middle child’s prom, Senior Trip, and graduation were all cancelled. My eldest son’s graduation from college. My youngest son’s graduation from Jr. High.
Thank God Texas opened up the schools.

I work in a dental office in Pittsburgh. The kids aren’t handling things very well. Some schools are doing hybrid learning...2 days at school, 2 days at home. Many kids can’t be bothered to wake up to log in for classes. Come to think of it, the parents aren’t handling it well either. I’m constantly telling people to take off their masks, so that I can work on them! On the one hand, they’re afraid to be here. On the other hand, it’s like a big social event for them.

As for academics; it's been high priced babysitting and indoctrination for decades now and the kids on the street know better. They learned a lot since the lie of the Wuhanic Plague started; no one was making decisions based on real learning and science and that nothing they were going to learn in school would help them in the future dealing with government lies and control of their life.

It’s not the lack of education in public schools.
It’s the isolation from forced lockdowns and “social distancing”.
Two of my grandchildren should have graduated this spring...one was able to graduate in Dec because of extra online classes but I dont think she has benefitted from the opportunity to leave school earlier ...she would have only had 2 classes this spring so she was able to finish them last year instead...
Her cousin has a different program so she has a more full slate...she goes half the week to school and the other days at home and online...
Both are bright and should have been ready for college this Fall...They both lost 3 months of school in the Spring of their Junior year...and now the part time school thingy...
The father of the first one graduated early from high school and started college at 17 but I dont think his daughter has the same preparation as he had...
