Does Obama own his Chevy volt yet?
Even Musk has said there’s not enough electricity available to fuel all the electric cars that are being projected. I somehow doubt that the libs are going to approve all the nuclear and coal-fired plants that will be necessary to provide the needed electricity.
I tried out my brother’s dual-motor Tesla 3. Not much to look at, but the acceleration was neck-snapping. Very fun.
Prager University: Do Electric Cars Really Help The Environment? No.
“for 45 minutes every other day”
First off, sitting in a wal-mart
parking lot for 45 minutes after
10:00 pm in most larger city
locations would be a risky
endeavor.
Secondly, I’d like to see you
try this in northern Minnesota,
in January, when it’s -22 deg F.
I guess you could carry a small
electric heater in your EV so
you don’t freeze to death while
waiting to charge up.
Where are they going to get all those charging stations? Right now there are maybe 2 at some grocery stores. The fights over these charging stations will bring back memories of the fights in the Jimmy Carter gas lines.
I worked with a salesman who bought a 2nd hand EV because he put so many miles on a vehicle he figured it would pay for itself very quickly. All was good for about a year when he discovered he had to replace almost $4000.00 in batteries. He traded it in as quick as he could.
Haven’t driven since 1993.
Why should I start now, with all those youtube videos of jerks on the road?
I do like the acceleration on these things, as well as the low maintenance. However, most of them are tiny, they can’t go very far between charges, and they are so expensive.
And going to Walmart 4 days a week for a hour each must suck.
Where will all the juice come from?
How will the EVs perform in Buffalo at midnight in a January blizzards?
How you gonna charge up to get out of a wildfire’s way when CA has brownouts in the danger zones?
Disposal of millions of EVs and batteries every year will be a major environmental hazard and “harm the Earth”.
What a self-defeating fantasy this all is.
“Since EVs will be primarily charged at home the availability of power would be controlled by government utility monopoly.”
Yep, and when they say ‘Lock Down’ they mean you will not be getting your usual ration of electricity. And it will be rationed.
Where’s that thorium reactor?
“Electric cars are already going 450-500 miles and new batteries coming out fully charge in 5 minutes or less.”
40KW in 5 minutes. Where you going to plug that in?
40KW in 5 minutes.
The other EV drivers will all be able to find the charging station. Just drive to the smoke.
I got my son a electric go cart. It is pretty nice, and can go 20MPH. But I am not about to buy a real vehicle that is electric.
Dragster racers sit in front of 5000 hp. I don’t think they care.

Unless we allow nuclear power plants to provide electricity.....there is NO way that electric vehicles to survive......of course there are always coal and gas fired power plants to fill the gap!!!!
Pretty much my view too. And then maybe the manufacturers will follow the cell phone industry and you will have to buy a new model every two years....or the batteries will be as fun as dealing with my battery powered power tool batteries...
EV’s will be a form of travel slavery in the end. If you don’t understand what I am saying then just wait a few more years.
