Shock poll: Trump 'Patriot Party' would win almost quarter of voters, drop GOP to third place
Just the News ^ | January 25,2021 | By Daniel Wattenberg

A Trump third party could provoke a pivotal realignment in American politics. With the support of 46% of registered voters in the new poll, Democrats would reap the benefits of a fractured opposition and entrench themselves as the nation's dominant party — even without majority support.

Among "very conservative" voters — who make up a disproportionately large bloc within the Republican primary electorate — a Trump Patriot Party crushes the GOP 55%-24%.

Should Trump remain in the GOP, his wide lead among these highly motivated voters affords him great leverage to influence the direction of the party by wielding the threat of conservative primary challenges against establishment Republicans ill at ease with the former president's combative brew of conservatism infused with populism and nationalism.

Yeah ok. The Whig party vanished. The Republican party was formed in 1854 and in six years took the presidency and was the dominant party till the Great Depression.

Most here are orgasmic over this news. Nothing says support of something then a permanent democratic government. They clearly learned nothing from 1992. The tea party fizzled. There is a reason only two parties have survived.

Isn’t that what we have now? The GOP is doing everything to flush the biggest conservative from its ranks.

Democrats do what their constituents demand.
What if half of us became their constituents,
We’d be the biggest voting bloc in the democrat party,
The chaos would be...glorious.

We can’t let the GOP fool us again. We need to boot them out the door. Someone said “I’d rather have a Democrat in front of me than a Republican behind me”. They are a back stabbing bunch and they can’t be trusted. They need to go.

And I’d stick with the GOP, no problem

So a new political party, like the Patriot Party for example would be, is not enough to attract your vote? What a political whore you are. You and all GOP suck ups make me sick.

Exactly right. Remember the Contract with America in 1994? That worked out well...

I think this is some pretty serious news.
I wonder about the internals.

We’ve tried for the past 25 years. They won’t let it happen.

A third party is a poor idea.

But openly run as a subgroup (”Patriot Republicans”) in the party works.

We just have to not let fakes into the subgroup, as happened with the TEA party.

You really think a party founded by Trump would be a mere splinter party? You are a political retard....

[Wrongo ace. The Patriot Party would be huge and the GOPe would be the splinter rump state party.

If the Patriot Party (MAGA) is formed and is on the ballot will you vote for them or stick with the GOP? ]

I would vote for the Patriot Party, much as I voted for every GOP candidate way back when. Don’t agree with them on everything, but agree with them more than I do with the alternatives. But I’d expect the Patriot Party to lose, and lose badly, while dragging the GOP down with it.

The Patriot Party would likely go down in flames, much as the Bull Moose Party did. Because it’s a party with no financial base. Maybe after the Democrats enact a wealth tax, and take income tax rates to 75%. When forced to choose between full nationalization of their wealth and the Patriot Party, I’d expect each and every moneybags to choose the Patriot Party.

With supermajorities in Congress, though, would it be such a big deal for the Dems to simply outlaw the party as a terrorist group and use RICO against its supporters? How’d you like to have your assets seized because you stood up for the party?

A third party is a poor idea.

Sticking with Republican butt boys is a poor idea too.

DoughtyOne,

Think you are right!

Need another foundation to build on! The RP is built on shifting sand and never will be remodeled! Like the DC bureaucracy, entrenched!

To much corruption in the hierarchy, (squishy) and succeeded in influencing President Trump’s selection for his administration!

Take care........pilgrim

I have mixed feelings on this. But we have to do something to wake these establishment Republicans.

I have very mixed feelings about a 3rd party attempt. You have to go in, and have a full slate, and all regions. That would take a LOT more than Trump.

That said, warnings after reactions against McCain, Romney, being ignored, and then Trump being attacked overtly and covertly, and the Never-Trumpers (e.g. "Lincoln" group) NOT being drummed out, tells me that they will NEVER be woken up. I wish it were otherwise. It is more practical to take over an existing structure, and we have the bodies, but it will be more than a two or four year project, and much will be lost in the meantime. Especially if elections are stolen more or less at will.

He did some stupid stuff. Not violent, but emo and stupid.
Still, no one could have believed how fast and how hard the totalitarian left would go on judicially persecuting conservatives, singled out of an antifa infiltrated operation.

Democrats would reap the benefits of a fractured opposition

This is B*S*. The opposition was already fractured with the GOPe voting for Biden. Most of the rest voted for Trump, not the Republican Party. Trump has 92% support among Republican voters and that's not because he happens to be the leader with the 'R' after his name. It's support specifically for Trump. Replace Trump with Romney and see support vanish.

The Trump people have said they have nothing to do with this Patriot group.

It looks like the DNC does.
