Should Trump remain in the GOP, his wide lead among these highly motivated voters affords him great leverage to influence the direction of the party by wielding the threat of conservative primary challenges against establishment Republicans ill at ease with the former president's combative brew of conservatism infused with populism and nationalism.

RULE #1 Nobody from either of the existing r or d parties may join the Patriot Party. Those POSSCUMBAG ANTIQUATED parties may NOT join the New Patriot Party, NO EXCEPTIONS !!!
RULE #2 The Patriot Party will be made up of People that are not Professional Politician’s. They will need to be Joe and Jane Public.
Rule #3 Nobody may be in Office more than 2 Terms. Based on the existing term’s set by the U.S. Constitution for the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Rule #4 NO PERKS, NO CASH PAY OFFS, NO GIFTS, NO LOBBYING, NO ANYTHING !!!
I’m open to more ideas but let’s try to keep things simple and basic
Do you honestly think we’re gonna be able to muster up the money to primary the RINOS out of the House and Senate plus kick them out of the many leadership positions they hold within the GOP machinery? That’s a wasted fight and one we will not win! The GOP is over. We’re not reforming it. I’ll take my chances with a new Patriot Party.
If we elected patriots like Trump, things would change.
Instead of responding you use a personal attack which tells me you may be reacting emotionally and not with logic and reason.
The GOP is weak but there are other factors that you aren't taking into account, Big Tech, a politically controlled press, outside interference including money (Soros) and influence (China) violent Democrat foot soldiers (Antifa/BLM). There were/are many factors and simply starting a new party isn't going to solve them.
Elect Patriots like Trump? Are there more? How many do you think could take the abuse that he has had to deal with? Not many.

It didn't last. The problem was, GOPe has most of the money, and they stopped giving with the Tea Party/small l libertarians/evangelicals running the party. And the Rs suffered at the actual elections after that, due to a lack of money. So the GOPe types were able to regain control after the losses.
On the flip side, at times when honked at the GOP, I've worked with some really good Libertarian candidates(I know the problems with the LP, but hear me out). These were really good candidates, respected business people, looked normal (no wild hair, etc) and they couldn't get over 5% in a 3 way race. Voters just will not throw their lot to a 3rd party candidate. Not LP, not Green, not Independent. And people with money don't want to part with it to help these good people, because they know it is a losing cause.
I really don't think 3rd party is the way to go in the future. Limited ballot access, and lack of money are just killers. I do think fighting within the Republican Party is the way to go, but a lot of people need to give a lot of money to support the good candidates, and party officers.
Not the way it works.
They could save a lot of ink and man hours on drafting a party platform and statement of positions.
They could economize down to a few words: “We fully support and agree with Donald John Trump on any issue he addresses and will accordingly also revise in the future any position changes he so adopts.”
Adopt on the floor in unanimous acclamation.
Lets face it the GOP left most of us long ago.

What if the MAGA candidate in his local congressional district were a known child molester, and the GOP candidate were an upstanding civic leader with nary a whiff is scandal? Everything is conditional. How do you expect him or her to answer that?

NO but the damn Republican Party HAD THE CHANCE to do something about proving voter fraud AND DID NOTHING!! Now that they have gotten away with it they are embolden!! The Republican Party has been WEAK for 40+ years they have LET this nation slide into the abyss it didn’t get this bad WITHOUT republicans being USELESS and WEAK!! For decades we have been BEGGING for someone to stand up and fight Trump steps up and fights like hell the GOP stab him in the back at every turn!! They couldn’t wait to get in front of the cameras and disavow his fighting tweets just couldn’t wait!! NEVER backed him up in the fight folded like a bunch of deck chairs!!
The more the feckless GOP shows they are just like the DNC, the more money they will bleed. Also remember that Trump went up against the Republican establishment to win the nomination. Don’t trust the polls.
