t's one of the most elegant and environmentally responsible ways to prepare your morning cup of coffee, but if you're regularly using a French press, you could be doing serious damage to your body in the long run, according to a study published in The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
"Unfiltered coffee contains substances which increase blood cholesterol," explains study author Dag Thelle, a senior professor in the public health and community medicine department of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. "Using a filter removes these and makes heart attacks and premature death less likely."

We were served Turkish coffee in Istanbul. VERY thick with grounds covering the bottom. We ate chocolate with it so it wasn’t awful. I even have a Turkish pot which I use for tea.
Sooner or later (if you live long enough), you will need:
Glasses/lenses/cataract surgery.
Hearing aids.
Dentures.
Breast implants (cancer related).
Pampers (over active bladder).
Bowel movement medicine (constipation or loose bowels).
Nail fungus medication.
Swollen ankles.
Pacemaker.
Itchy skin - all over!!!!!!

Buses no problem, it is the bad senior drivers on streets of Florida I worry about. I applied for a FL driver’s license at age 76 after moving here, and they gave me a 10 years license, and no eye exam or mental acuity exam necessary for 10 years!
I swear by all that’s holy, I didn’t know about this before I gave it to my daughter in law for Christmas.
wasn’t a coffee drinker until a guy I was dating served “percolator” coffee using a fresh bean grinder as well. It was delightful to say the least! Very different from coffee maker coffee.
Was his name Philip Marlowe and did he have a habit of calling you “angel”...?
My mother used to make coffee by boiling ground coffee in milk and then strain it. Still recall that rich taste after 60 years.
