CDC warns eight COVID-19 infections are missed for every one counted
New York Post ^ | November 26, 2020 | By Lee Brown

The record surge in coronavirus cases across the US is likely far worse, with an estimated eight infections unreported for every one infection counted, according to a government report — which would put the true tally closer to 100 million

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calculated that by the end of September there had really been as many as 53 million Americans contract the deadly bug — just under eight times the confirmed cases reported at the time.

Of those, the CDC believes about 45 million were sick at some point and about 2.4 million were hospitalized.

The true tally is likely now far higher, with November continually breaking case records across the US — with now 12,778,256 cases officially reported,

f the CDC is correct about the number of missed cases, that would put the true number of infections in the US now closer to 100 million.

As well as record numbers of infections, the US is also seeing more people hospitalized by the contagion than ever before — as well as record numbers of deaths in at least nine states.

It comes as mass travel for Thanksgiving against CDC guidance is feared to create even more disaster.

So they’re ‘warning’ us that we may have or may get some disease that is so mild ....

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

... that you have to get a test to know you have it or have had it. And a lot of those tests are unreliable ... if they “spin” it more than 30 times, you’ll probably be a false positive.

“an estimated eight infections unreported for every one infection counted,”

That means the morbidity rate is one eighth of that reported.

100 million? Cool! At 30%, it's almost all over!
The Tricky Math of Herd Immunity for COVID-19

Quanta Magazine. By Kevin Hartnett, Senior Writer, June 30, 2020

According to the standard models, about 60% of the U.S. population would need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or recover from it to slow and ultimately stop the spread of the disease. But many experts I talked to suspect that the herd immunity threshold for naturally acquired immunity is lower than that. “My guess would be it’s potentially between 40 and 50%,” -- Virginia Pitzer of the Yale School of Public Health.

Lipsitch of Marc Lipsitch of Harvard University agrees: “If I had to make a guess, I’d probably put it at about 50%.”

Some recent papers have tried. In June the journal Science published a study that incorporated a modest degree of heterogeneity and estimated the herd immunity threshold for COVID-19 at 43% across broad populations. But one of the study’s co-authors, Tom Britton of Stockholm University, thinks there are additional sources of heterogeneity their model doesn’t account for.

“If anything, I’d think the difference is bigger, so that in fact the herd immunity level is probably a bit smaller than 43%,” Britton said.

It has to slow down once one-third of the population has been infected.

Why not just admit that everyone has covid and let us go on with our lives?

This is getting so boring. On the news they state how many are positive and how many died. NEVER do they say how many recovered. It’s as if those people are useless.

I checked my County. 655 cases, 17 deaths. Should I panic?

It’s very severe, worse than you think. Cases are rising and that doesn’t count the 89% of them that nobody even knew they had, that’s how dangerous it is.

More testing = more positive and negative results. More results with fewer deaths per/100k? Seems like the death rate should be going down. But, I only passed by a Holiday Inn Express so my thinking may not be truly scientific. Just sayin’....................

Both the PCR and fast Covid tests are completely invalid.

They both spit out false-positives like slot machines.

And they are fine with that because it lets them pump up the numbers and declare lockdowns.

Hmmmm....cases exploding in Arizona although the large majority of the population is required to wear masks. Seems the masks mandates didn’t work. But Gov Douchey still tells everyone to wear a mask. Although he often does not....

If that’s true, one state is over Covid, North Dakota.

So far, per worldometer’s numbers, ND has had one case of Covid for every ten residents. In other words, everyone there has now had it, or was exposed and is naturally immune.

In fact, the recent acceleration of cases in ND has ended and is now trending downward. If herd immunity has been reached in ND, then the expected Thanksgiving bump will not occur. Worth watching to see what happens.

My daughter is in the military. She came down with a cold. The military refuses to test her for COVID. They just put her on 14 day quarantine. Seems they find the tests worse than worthless.....
