COVID-19 has been linked to a greater risk of developing mental health disorders, a new study from Britain’s Oxford University states.
The report published in The Lancet peer-reviewed medical journal found that 1 in 5 COVID-19 survivors will receive a mental health diagnosis within 90 days of infection.
Among the most common are anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, insomnia and dementia.
“People have been worried that COVID-19 survivors will be at greater risk of mental health problems, and our findings ... show this to be likely,” Oxford professor of psychiatry Paul Harrison said, according to Reuters.
The Oxford study evaluated health records of 69 million people in the United States, more than 60,000 of whom had been diagnosed with coronavirus. It also found correlations between preexisting psychiatric disorders and an increased chance of contracting coronavirus.
Those previously diagnosed with mental health problems were 65 percent more likely to test positive for COVID-19. A similar correlation exists with other infections, including pneumonia.
Patients already diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia were among those most likely to receive a positive coronavirus diagnosis, the study found.
It's not a glitch, it's a feature..................

So that’s what happened to Boris Johnson.
Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the lockdown, of course.
Oh BS
Covid is the new global warming.
The big Covid-19 outbreaks have been in the Democrat States and big cities, this explains their actions. They are all mentally ill.
This might go to explain why certain people have a mild case and only a couple of symptoms. Although if designed this way...the strategy might have been to overwhelm society with mental issues people. But it would take years to design something like this.
> Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the lockdown, of course.
That’s actually an excellent point. Mental Health disorders are way up just due to the lockdown itself.
Wonder if this is only those who were hospitalized?
Most “ cases” never are
“Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the lockdown, of course.”
And the constant drumbeat by the media about how deadly this virus is.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so disgusted by my fellow Americans.
Patient: “Hey, Doc! I had the COVID thing but I got better pretty quick. I feel great now. I guess COVID isn’t as bad as they say, huh?”
Doctor: “Nurse! I’ve got another one with mental problems!!”

PEOPLE WITH EXISTING PNEUMONIA ARE LIKLY TO GET COVID.
Prelude to all out Zombies?
I wonder how that breaks down by age.
Just like CommieCuomo, they're trying to put the blame, elsewhere.
After having the fear of death from COVID shouted at them from all quarters plus the infliction that somehow they did not do enough to keep from getting the virus (did not wear a mask while weeding the garden)and being forced to recall every step they took for the last month is it any wonder they end up with those so called signs of mental illness?
They are making having an illness with a a mortality rate better than the flu a traumatic experience, isolation, social ostracism etc.
Maybe they are doing this to claim Trump is mentally impaired by Covid-19 so they can add article 25 to their constant coup attempts. :/
how many of the mentally ill voted for “Biden”?
Could be (yet another) long-term problem of the acute disease.
Or, could be at least half of those people are driven mad by the way they were scared of it before they had it - so that when they got it they were sure death was near.
Otherwise I’m constantly amazed at how many domino effects this Black Plague has. If it doesn’t kill you, it’ll surely maim in some way!
