Taiwan's military would last "only two weeks" in a cross-strait war with China, a former naval commander for the island said on Monday.
Lieutenant General Yeh Jen-wen, who served in Taiwan's navy for 32 years, warned President Tsai Ing-wen that her government was "playing with fire" with its escalating weapons procurement policy.
Yeh's comments, made in an interview with Hong Kong's China Review News Agency, came after the Trump administration announced two arms sales to Taipei in the space of a week, including an estimated $2.37 billion in Harpoon missile systems.
On Tuesday, Election Day in the U.S., the State Department approved another deal, this time for four armed Reaper drones worth $600 million. It is the 10th weapons transaction between Washington and Taipei since President Donald Trump took office in 2017.

China just found out the US won’t defend Taiwan now.
Two weeks?
Thats optimistic. Two hours, if China was serious about it.
Might be a Pyrrhic victory for China as it has to rebuild a lot of stuff Taiwan blew up.
Taiwan was once a prefecture of Japan. There has been an effort by some in Taiwan to reunite the two countries and make Taiwan part of Japan again. But of course that would never actually happen.
Think of what a loss of Taiwan will do to the semiconductor industry. TSMC would be in CCP hands and many semi companies rely on them to produce their advanced chips. AMD for one would be destroyed if the CCP controls TMSC.
More like two hours. Biden will end the sale of F-16 upgrades, Harpoon missiles, and SLAM missiles to Taiwan worth $2.3 billion that was approved by the State Department.
Can you imagine the cheesy grinning buffoon Biden and Merkel fawning over each other
Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam need to sign a mutual defense treaty yesterday and invite other Asian nations to join. South Korea won't join until their current Communist president is gone, but the Philippines and Thailand might. These nations cannot rely on help from the USA any longer.
I can imagine it. I can't imagine he'd recognize her and remember who she is. He'd probably mistake her for his sister or cousin.

At this point, Taiwan’s only hope would be to form a mutual defense pact with South Korea and Japan.
Of course that would kick off Pacific WW-III....
[ Im not in the advice business, but if I were Id advise both Taiwan and Japan to develop, beg, borrow or steal nukes.

Exactly, the smaller Asian countries need to band together.

This PC price rises during COVID was bad.... Try thinking multiple thousands of dollars for certain CPUs and Motherboards....
Old computers ( 2-5 years old ) may end up being worth a LOT!
Taiwan lives matter.
Stop buying China crap.
Why would China want combat with Taiwan?
Too many variables.
Cruise missiles slamming into Chinese Generals mansions?
Who wants that?
There are other ways.
Like bribing Democrats.

officially, neither country has nukes. But if it did, Japan’s nukes would be put together meticulously and stored in really nice looking presentation boxes. Tiawan’s nukes would have carbon fiber shells with a beautiful gloss finish, and weigh under 25 pounds.
If we don’t have neutron bombs stationed in orbit, we should.
I was thinking 27 BC
