Arizona Republican Sen. Martha McSally remains confident Democrats supporting challenger Mark Kelly won't flip her Senate seat.
Speaking with Fox News on Monday evening, the incumbent said that the only poll that matters in the race is Election Day. Kelly, a former NASA astronaut, has been leading McSally for the past couple of months.

The simple truth is that the GOP had a disastrous 2018 election cycle even though they picked up a few Senate seats. They should have picked up at least 8 of them because it was very much their year to knock off a lot of Democrats in GOP states.
“She filled out McCains term, so this cycle shes running on her own ticket, for a six-year term.”
McCain won the seat in 2016. He died on 25 Aug 2018. Jon Kyle was appointed to replace him.
McSally ran for the open seat in 2018 and lost to Sinema. She was appointed in December 2018 to replace Jon Kyle, who had resigned from the McCain seat. So the McCain seat went to Kyle, then to McSally, and now McSally is running to finish it out.
That is my understanding. I’m open to correction if I’ve followed it incorrectly.
I just looked. Looks like Republicans have 22 seats up for grabs in 2022. BUT, most are in the deep South or the farming Midwest. Plus Alaska: I am wondering if Palin takes on Murkowski.
You have two GOP retirements in 2022 already: Burr in NC and Toomey in PA. It is going to be very hard to hold both of those seats.
Any Dem retirements?
I'm more than a little tired of seeing GOP state organizations essentially 'implode' due to infighting (I've witnessed that from the sidelines, twice), and Republicans going out of the way to 'seize defeat from the jaws of victory' (something we've all seen). Any criticism of McSally that's posted here probably won't influence anyone who still plans to vote - but how do I know? I talked to a guy down in San Tan a few weeks back, who advised me that he was voting for Biden because he didn't like the way Mr. Trump holds a bible. (Yes, I'm serious.)
So, you know what? I don't think it would hurt anyone to consider Mr. Reagan's 11th Commandment, and hold the griping & complaining until after the election. FWIW, YMMV, etc., etc...
I heard a guy call it the “perfection circle” as in jerk off. I go ask my son if he’s voting for Trump and he says he’s undecided because Trump hasn’t lowered the price of his asthma inhaler. I see it all the time.
McSally vs Kelly is a world class no brainer, especially for gun owners, and like you, I wish people would cut the crap until we re-elect her.
The problem for the GOP is that there are no Democrats running in 2022 in states that Trump won in 2016. It will be exceedingly hard to flip any Democrat seats even if there ARE retirements announced before 2022.
This is a special election to fill the remainder of McCain’s term. Whoever wins tonight has to run again in 2022.
Yes, I think you’re right.
McNally lost, Trump way behind.
WTF ARIZONA!
