Catholic First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has come out in support of the GOP LGBT group, Log Cabin Republicans.
In a video which has been seen over 250,000 times in less than 24 hours, Mrs. Trump explained that her husband, the president of the United States who is now vigorously campaigning for reelection, is the ultimate outsider, and that earned him many enemies in the political establishment.
I was shocked to discover that some of these powerful people have tried to paint my husband as anti-gay, or against equality. Nothing could be further from the truth, asserted Mrs. Trump. Donald loves helping people, and he loves seeing those around him, and his country, succeed.
As leader of the Republican party and president of the United States, Donald has been clear that gays and lesbians will be treated as he has always treated them: equally, she continued. Donald is the first president to enter the White House supporting gay marriage. Donald is also the first president to appoint an openly gay official to his cabinet.
Today we see free-thinkers and independent voices like gay conservatives and Log Cabin Republicans silenced, censored, and bullied by cancel culture mobs, she said.
Im First Lady Melania Trump. I support the Log Cabin Republicans, and I am unapologetically outspoken, she added, incorporating the name of the Log Cabin Trump campaign site, OUTspoken.
Mrs. Trumps expressed support, while firmly stated, focuses not on specific issues popularly associated with the leftist LGBT juggernaut, but on the right of gays with libertarian or conservative views to not have their voices silenced, and to not be ignored by mainstream media.
In recent weeks the Trump campaign has shifted into high gear regarding its outreach to voters that identify as LGBT, a group which the GOP had essentially ceded to the leftist Democratic Party.
While clearly having brewed behind the scenes for a long time, the Trump campaigns outreach to the LGBT world exploded into the public square in August when Richard Grenell, President Donald Trumps former acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Ambassador to Germany who identifies as a homosexual, proclaimed in a video ad that President Trump is the most pro-gay president in American history.
That video quickly garnered millions of views.
Since then, the outreach to homosexuals has remained at a high level of visibility, with Brandon Straka, the gay founder of the Walk Away movement joining with Grenell and members of the Trump family at TRUMP Pride events which have been held at cities across the country, including Nashville, Tampa, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Saturday evening in Pittsburgh.
Earlier this month, at a debate titled LGBT Throwdown, right-leaning Straka, Blaire White, and Mike Harlow easily crushed the tired arguments and long-held Human Rights Campaign pretensions of their three leftist debate adversaries.
Full transcript of Mrs. Trumps unapologetically outspoken pro-gay remarks:
America is a place where you can be anything you want. Your opportunities are endless because our country provides so many chances to succeed.
As First Lady of the United States, I know how much my husband loves the American people and I know his passion in life is to see all the citizens of this great country do well and prosper.
Donald is the businessman who never worked in politics. The ultimate outsider, and that earned him many enemies in the political establishment.
I was shocked to discover that some of these powerful people have tried to paint my husband as anti-gay, or against equality. Nothing could be further from the truth. Donald loves helping people, and he loves seeing those around him, and his country, succeed.
As leader of the Republican party and president of the United States, Donald has been clear that gays and lesbians will be treated as he has always treated them: equally. Donald is the first president to enter the White House supporting gay marriage. Donald is also the first president to appoint an openly gay official to his cabinet.
The story of America is one of trailblazers and fearless underdogs. Today we see free-thinkers and independent voices like gay conservatives and Log Cabin Republicans silenced, censored, and bullied by cancel culture mobs.
This is not the America any of us want to live in. America was founded on God-given rights of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression. We are a nation that celebrates and protects diversity and we condemn those who bully and intimidate people.
We do not want to live in a place without freedom, where everyone is forced to think alike.
My husband sees the promise of America and all her citizens moving onward as we recover from many challenges. Even if you dont agree with my husband about everything, you have the right to say it. That is the American way; lets protect it.
Im First Lady Melania Trump. I support the Log Cabin Republicans, and I am unapologetically outspoken.
God bless you all. And God bless our beautiful nation.
Hey first lady, why is our fertility rate 1.74% Try to pay for your future government give a ways with a gender confused population not having babies. Some things are more important than others. Shut up!
Shut up Archie.
She and we should all support ALL Republicans regardless of what kind of proclivities they have. We actually don’t really need to know at all that they might be homosexuals. Why they have to brag about that is beyond me.
Trumps big tent. All Americans welcome. The left will find a reason to hate this as well.
Good.
Gays are fine. Just don’t shove their lifestyle into my or my children’s face, don’t advertise obnoxiously at work... Look, as long as it does not affect me, it’s none of my damn business what someone does in their own private sphere and I’m not going to pretend like everything someone does somehow impacts me. Where people get pissed off is when they push their lifestyle publically, expect affirmatiom, and pretend to be offended if someone has a different philosophy of what is right and wrong from them. What gets people angry is when they demand special perks or attention but then also want to pretend like they just want things to be fair. Live and let live, privacy, and everything is perfectly OK.
You're such a dinosaur.
You need to open your eyes to the new coalition of Republicans who enjoy freedom and liberty over tyranny and economic depression regardless of their backgrounds. Embrace our new friends and enjoy decades of a free society.
The First Lady needs to have a “Come to Jesus” meeting with the President’s Spiritual advisors sooner rather than later.
I think that whatever our personal and/or religious views may be, that public opinion on this subject has shifted drastically and we are not going back to the 1950s on this one. Part of politics is knowing what is worth fighting for and what is not.
If what they want is tolerance, then I’m content to live and let live.
The problem of course is that far too many are demanding that we all kneel and burn incense before the alphabet god. And that is where I draw the line.
Trump is the most gay friendly Republican President there has ever been. You wouldnt know that from the screeching coming from the Left, but its true. Hes against trannies in the military because of the disruption and difficulty that stems from the hormones, surgery, and mental problems, but that is a very different issue from sexual orientation.
+ 1000
Totally agree. And at the same time I would take Ric Grenell instead of Wray as FBI director in a heartbeat
DJT has never really had any issues with the alphabet people. He doesn’t push the subject one way or another. I think his attitude is live and let live. Which, as long as they reciprocate, I’m fine with.
My problem is that too many are demanding a lot more.
“We actually dont really need to know at all that they might be homosexuals.”
Yet they continue to shove it in our faces. I’m glad they’re with us because, as humans, they have the same issues re economy, etc., as everyone else. But I’d love it if they’d be a bit more subtle. (But that’s just me.)
WHY? It's for God to judge people, not the First Lady. We are called to love.
When God weighs in, what’s worth fighting for will be crystal clear.
Preferably Jeffress, and not the lady — Joyce or Paula or something.
Donald Trump supports gay Republicans too.
PS Perhaps Franklin Graham could have a sit down with the First Lady to explain the Facts of Life according to the Bible. By the way Franklin Graham is having a special prayer time on November 2 at 8 p.m. . . . https://www.facebook.com/FranklinGraham/
