Walmart says it has removed ammunition and firearms from displays at its U.S. stores, citing 'civil unrest' in some areas.

The nation's largest retailer, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, sells firearms in about half of its 4,700 stores. The move comes days before the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 3, with many worried that the result could be contested or spark violence.

'We have seen some isolated civil unrest and as we have done on several occasions over the last few years, we have moved our firearms and ammunition off the sales floor as a precaution for the safety of our associates and customers,'

Bingo! If they won’t stop them from carrying out big screen tvs, they sure won’t stop them from going behind the counter and getting a firearm . . with possibly some ammunition. But that MIGHT be where they call the cops . . providing they show up and want to do anything.

I was in the Glenwood Springs store today. The shelves in the gun/ammo section were completely empty. Not exactly a hotbed of civil unrest here.

Was at our local wally world this afternoon. Empty gun cases and some shotgun ammo. Two 20 rd boxes #8 2 3/4 that i bought and some 20 and 28 Gage which I didn't buy. No other ammo. Remember when you could buy guns at TG&Y? 😯

Walmart is about the last place I’d go for anything gun related....or anything else for that matter.
