I believe the closest precedent would be 1872, when Horace Greeley, the Democrat-Liberal Republican nominee, died between Election Day and the day the electors met.
Most, but not all, of Greeley’s electors voted for his running mate, B. Gratz Brown. Several scattered to other people. David Davis got the bulk of Brown’s VP votes.

It’s the DNC stupid! They have to decide this weekend if they let Biden take down the HofR and Senate races. If they let Joe stay in, all three go down the drain. If they pull Joe they can hold their positions in Congress and fight for the Presidency in 2024. My guess , Joe goes to bunker forever
but not every state works like every other state
so in texas it might, but that soesnt mean all the other states do this
because not every state would assume they would automatically vote for the replacement person as they may find them objectionable, or worse in comparison to the other candidate still alive

If Biden wins, that means the rats will have effectively stolen the election.. which means the house and senate will also most likely be gone...
so no... every rat goes free.
Chances are that voters would think twice about voting for the substitute candidate at the last minute (or not vote at all), but (in Texas) the votes for the withdrawn candidate will count for the party, not the candidate directly, since according to the Constitution they are voting for Electors -- the candidates' names are for convenience only on the ballot.
