If the Hunter Biden email scandal grew legs enough that Biden decides to drop out of the race what happens?
The Hunter scandal is making no waves beyond a few conservative talk radio shows. We should be focusing on the issues , not a scandal few Americans know or care about
If Lee Atwater were alive, the GOP would destroy the Dems with an ad about Biden embracing transgender for kids. Now THATs an issue that would gain attention and outrage in the swing states. Today’s GOP is too yellow to run with it.

If he drops out before the election then DNC can put up a replacement. If he wins but drops out before inauguration I think it’s the same. If he goes after inauguration then Heels Up gets promoted. barf.
I can assure you they'll only be able to "Ignore" or evade it so long. And I understand much more documentary evidence is coming. It will become impossible to, "Ignore".
As another Freeper has pointed out, millions of votes have already been cast. So, Joe Biden is the party’s standard bearer through Election Day.
After election (Forbid it, Oh Lord), should he become so incapacitated or so legally encumbered that another person needs to replace him, that is a function of the Electoral College envisioned by the drafters of the current US Constitution.
Once he is in office, replacement is possible in two ways. For provable corruption, the customary path is constitutional impeachment and removal from office. This is highly unlikely given the very high corruption tolerance levels of Democrat politicians. In the case of health-related incapacity, suspension from office (until he resigns) under the 25th Amendment.
The by the book answer is that the Dem Party replaces the Presidential nominee. It is not a law the the VP moves up.
Scenario 1: Joe Biden drops out next week...well millions of votes have already been cast and it's far too late to change the remaining ballots. If on election day Biden/Harris wins a majority of electoral votes, then when the electoral college meets, the votes would still go to Biden, since Biden is unwilling to serve (conceivably he could reconsider and still accept the Presidency) Harris wouldn't automatically get the nod, because the "winner" refused the Presidency, and no other candidate has 270 votes, the electoral college would either have to reconvene and choose an alternate candidate or the election would be kicked to the House of Representatives to sort out.
Scenario 2: Biden/Harris wins on election day, but Biden dies before the Electoral College meets. Pretty much the same as Scenario 1, because Biden is no longer eligible any electoral votes for him would be invalid, Again since no candidate has 270 the election would be given to House of Representatives to sort out.
