Vice presidential debates are rarely as thrilling as the showdowns between the two people running for commander-in-chief.
But Wednesday’s faceoff between Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence in Salt Lake City, Utah, is taking on heightened importance.
With 74-year old President Trump and 77-year old Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden being the oldest standard bearers ever to lead the Democratic and Republican national party tickets, the vice presidential debate was already consequential – with both running mates seen as presidents in waiting.
But with Trump in isolation at the White House -- after spending three days hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after being diagnosed with COVID-19 -- the debate has surged even further in importance.

I think it will. You've got four people here, and many will see Pence as the only adult of the four. That's advantage Trump.
Keep hearing even though our Vice President is the winner, he won’t change minds. I think he did change minds showing how shallow Harris really is.
This moderator was so much better than Wallace. He argued with Trump which was just repulsive. Wonder if their ratings will be down. FOX Business is good though I can’t stand Cavuto.

But I’m back to Kamala agreeing with the moderator that what Pence said was a “perfect segue” She had to know what the question was going to be.

Harris said Pence voted against the auto bailout. He was indeed a House Rep 2001-13.

It is hard for Pence to be an in your face kind of guy. Trump would have chewed her up and spit her out by now.

What people witnessed tonight in Kamala, unconsciously, was the difference between an ideolog and well thoughtout problem solver(Pence).
