Video at URL..
Swarm of Hotspots popping up on New Madrid seismic zone. Also hot spots on Wabash seismic zone. DEW (directed energy weapon) pointed at the New Madrid zone. Also examines some hot spots in NY and IL. Issued a watch for the New Madrid for the next 7 days.
Says the DEW signature can either be a HOAX in the official government data, or a mistake or the real thing.
Says a mistake is kind of ruled out by the presense of the hot spots in the same location. Leaving hoax or the real thing.
These stay in the same place... the ones in the video skipped around...

from link:
A seismic speed trap that stretches from Missouri to Virginia suggests a hotspot scorched the Midwest during the Mesozoic Era, a new study finds.
Hotspots are scalding plumes of hot rock rising toward Earth’s surface from the mantle, the layer that sits under Earth’s crust. Though tectonic plates constantly shift, hotspots are homebodies, stuck in pretty much the same spot for their entire lives, scientists think.
Yep, they do stay in the same place, but the earth’s crust plates move...causing the magma hotspot to appear to move (think new islands in the Hawaiian chain).
“Beams on a video”...no idea...didn’t watch it...like I said “beams from orbit” with enough power to even cause a sunburn are a fantasy. Think “small power supplies in orbit” and “atmospheric attenuation”.

Drago, thank you for saving me keyboarding time! IF TRUE????? The real news here is that someone can generate enough power form orbit to cause a seismic event. That would be some real news.
Maybe the Chinese or the Russians!!!! ;-) They may have the “power” to transcend physics!
Thanks for posting this. All of this is brand new to me, and very scary-interesting!
lol....
Is that the bridge that collapsed several years ago, causing some deaths? I know it was I-40, and in Arkansas.
That doesn’t bode too well for us in Oklahoma, and I have friends and family near Chicago. Kids and grandkids. So has our pastor.
The first evidence of a 1100 F surface-heating spot on the Earth's surface would be fires. And, that's (BIG IF) sufficient power density could be maintained on a spot of ground to heat it to 1100F!
Since these spots are "transitory" (leaving no continuing grass/forest fires and charred terrain) -- claiming they are DEW effects is evidence of unclear (or "conspiracy-biased) thinking.
As for magma plumes being the only potential source of subsurface-origin hot spots -- you might want to review the video of Freund's paper on "Solid State Effects Heating" linked in DocRock/s #39... Very interesting theory -- and more-interesting data! (Not often you hear applause for a data plot in the middle of a paper...)

Another example, remember the “Airborne Laser” program (Boeing 747 mounted)...max range about 185 miles, power output 1 megawatt...weight of airborne laser & it’s power supply 121,000 pounds. Geostationary orbit height 22,000 miles, so an over 100 megawatt laser needed?? Even in LEO (1000 miles) then a 5 megawatt laser needed. Best solid state lasers nowadays produce about 1,000 watts per 77 pounds of weight. Not enough Falcon 9 Heavy or Delta 4 Heavy rockets available for that!

Worse issue is the surface around New Madrid and the adjacent Wabash cleft or whatever they call the spur of New Madrid that runs northeast of Tiptonville TN .....is that the surface is more fluid in general....soil and mud surface
Imagine rumbling under jello or pudding
As opposed to rumbling under sheets of concrete
Less seismic intensity creates a Doppler effect that goes much further out and does exponentially more surface damage at least to the Tennessee River where it gets rocky again
In Nashville in 25 years on three occasions Ive heard and felt seismic events from New Madrid
Once woke me up with rattling like a helicopter was right over my roof for 20-30 seconds
Another time new New Albany Mississippi in the late 70s I stopped at a gas station on old 78...now interstate 22.....and shelves were in disarray cause one had just hit
And all these were low on the richter compared to west coast or Andean plate tremors
The New Madrid was 8.2
Northridge California in 1994 was 6.7
Mexico City was an 8
One today could be catastrophic

Somebody better go back and review basic thermodynamics (or 7th grade General Science).
Just as it is nonsensical to claim to "push cold into" something, it is just as asinine to talk of using an energy beam to "pull heat out".
That's even more nonsensical than the ubiquitous science fiction "tractor beam"!

Bfl.
[The real news here is that someone can generate enough power form orbit to cause a seismic event.]
Yeah, but Grazer One in “Under Siege 2: Dark Territory”...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As we in engineering & science say, "That's about the size of it!" ;-)
The basic unit of measure for any beam weapon is Power Density on target. (i.e. watts/sq. cm.)
To overcome the inverse square law, that infers hellacious power (and power supply) -- and/or -- unheard-of collimation and focusing.
For simple ground attack, it's more "throw-weight-economical" to deploy kinetic weapons (e.g "Rods from God") than to deploy space-based DEWs.
For 3 days I understand
OK, you are getting past my level of knowledge in physics...(I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!)....but kinetic weapons from orbit look like a more viable (cheaper/actually deployable) option than “energy beams”.
