The monthly Democracy Institute Sunday Express poll for the Presidential election shows that Mr Trump is still on course for victory with 46 percent of the popular support compared to his Democrat rival Joe Bidens 45 percent.
However, his overall lead has dropped by two points since the last poll in September.
The poll was completed after the news broke that President Trump and his wife Melania have been infected by Covid-19.
But 68 percent said the illness would not affect their vote while 19 percent said they were more likely to support Trump and only 13 percent less likely.
Almost two thirds said they felt sympathy and concern for the President while 38 percent said him getting the disease was karma in an indication of the current divisive nature of US politics.
Crucially, Mr Trumps lead in key swing states including Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin remains at 4 percent by 47 percent 43 percent.
This gives a projected Electoral College split of 320 to Trump and 218 to Biden.
While other polls have Biden ahead, the Democracy Institute, which correctly predicted Brexit and Trumps win in 2016, only considers people who identify as likely voters rather than all registered voters and also asks about the so called shy vote.
This shows that 77 percent of Trump supporters would not admit it to friends or family members.

The Donald has the virus but Biden will die from it. The news cycle will be 24/7 Trump. Every word uttered will be directly or indirectly about him for the next 12 days. If Biden wants any coverage Joe better get the virus or fake it.
Trump hate is the only strategy the Left/Dems have. Its the only way they can attempt to motivate their base.
Who the hell is motivated to get off the couch to vote for the bumbling, demented, deep-state waxworks named Joe Biden?
An interesting admission given the so called results of many other polls.
This one predicted Trump the winner 2016.
Exactly the Rats’ next plan — infect Biden and blame Trump for “the good of the country”
I never heard of this poll before this year. It has consistently been the most pro-Trump poll in 2020.
They had a simp on FOX from the WSJ editorial board saying that Trump is actually campaigning for Biden while he is in the hospital and showing his incompetence managing the COVID crisis.
FOX is unwatchable on the weekend.
Like Rush says with one hand tied behind the back.
Trump with covid works harder than Biden without covid
Trump doesn’t have the virus. Michael Moore, that fat liberal slime ball slug pig faced @$$hole out in HomoHollyWeird said he didn’t and was faking it to make brownie points so people will feel sorry for him. So, it HAS to be true if a fat@$$ed slimy slug that slithers on the garbage pile of liberalism says so, doesn’t it??
He will pull off this week another Middle East country getting on the Peace train.
That WSJ dude is annoying.
I think I might be tempted to argue back that all the drugs that have helped Trump recover were made under his watch and leadership in an expedited fashion and will be ready for public use very shortly.
I try hard to be objective, and if you go to this outfit’s website you sense some conservative bias. I’ll just put it into the tranche of polls that give us optimism.
Biden would definitely FAKE it.
His whole political life has been based on lies.
Never been a fan of Zogby but he was on OAN this afternoon saying that Trump was literally surging since the debate, and Covid. He said Trump was up like 8 points in just the last couple weeks, and said he wouldnt believe it himself if it wasnt in the data.
Almost two thirds said they felt sympathy and concern for the President while 38 percent said him getting the disease was karma

Good numbers!
The poll, conducted beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friday by John Zogby Strategies and EMI Research Solutions, shows Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden with 49 percent support and Trump with 47 percent support, with four percent undecided.
That’s two polls now showing Trump tied or doing better than the others suggest.
