President Trump on Wednesday announced an updated list of potential nominees to the Supreme Court that included three Republican U.S. senators and his former solicitor general.
Trump announced 20 additional potential nominees that would be added to a list of candidates for the Supreme Court, including Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Noel Francisco, who departed as solicitor general in June.
The move represents a bid to shore up his support among conservatives two months from the 2020 presidential election. In remarks at the White House, Trump warned that religious liberty, freedom of speech and the right to bear arms are all at risk if Democrats win the election, asserting that they would appoint radical justices to the high court.
Over the next four years, Americas president will choose hundreds of federal judges and in all likelihood, one, two, three and even four Supreme Court justices, Trump said in remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House.
The outcome of these decisions will determine whether we hold fast to our nations founding principles or whether they are lost forever, Trump continued.

Amy Coney Barrett seemed destined for RBG seat. Have to believe this is additional to the earlier list.
I’m so on board the Cruz selection. First of all, I don’t think Cruz has enough charisma to win a presidency, and he also will stick to his conservative ideals on the Supreme Court. And it would make the Lefties heads explode.
not a myth. Born in Canada. Father was a Cuban citizen at time of Ted’s birth. Twice ineligible.
I love Cruz but he wasn’t eligible for the Presidency. As a US Senator he’s fine in my book and while I’d like to see him stay on in the Senate he is also very eligible for USSCt if PDJT chooses to nominate him.
Will someone please do the apnea test on rbg? These candidates were needed months ago.
There is the mirror test...but which one? The one under the nose looking for moisture from breathing, or the one where you have no reflection?
SCOTUS isn't the same as running for President.
Cruz has argued in front of the SCOTUS 9 times, on mostly Conservative issues. He was also a law clerk for Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
AH, Geez! Not this crap again!! I bet you still believe all the crap and lies Trump told about him and his family too!
I used to like Cruz, but I now think he would become another John Roberts.
“The move represents a bid to shore up his support among conservatives “
ROTFLOL!
right, we conservatives are deserting donald trump in droves, and putting cruz on a list is just the ticket to reverse the desertions ...
Some of our “A” Students.
There are no explicit requirements in the U.S. Constitution for a person to be
nominated to become a Supreme Court justice. No age, education, job experience,
or citizenship rules exist. In fact, according to the Constitution, a Supreme Court
justice does not need to even have a law degree.
NO...idiots. Trump is following the playbook. He knows the big D donors are going into hyper drive every day they see Joe get more senile (he said farmers are building plants overseas). IMO the more money that comes pouring into the dimwits coffers, the more chaos will result as it will further split and fracture the party. Look for more of this up until the election. I am expecting some big plan that benefits inner cities such as economic investment.
He officially was a Canadian by birth and trashed his Canadian citizenship while planning the run for president.
Mark is young enough for consideration, and certainly educated enough, but he often has serious health issues to deal with.
The President needs to say “the next President will be appointing a least four new Justices in his four year term. “ “I will be appointing at least four new Justices during my next four year term as President.” Perfect troll of the libs and enenamedia.
The Never Cruzer crowd still hangs around.
I think they are ever dumber than the Never Trumpers, if that is possible.
Sidney Powell
ya....let’s vote for Biden.....
Cruz really belongs in USSC in a way.
