An anonymous NYPD officer recently said morale throughout the department has hit an all-time low amid widespread opposition to and hostility toward police.
"The term for NYPD that is going around in every command in the city is, 'The job is dead.' You would be crazy to take this job now in this day and age. ... It's sad that that's where we are at right now. People who are saying that we're afraid, we're not afraid. We just want to be supported."
He said these problems are not just in New York City, but "across the United States."
"When I became a police officer many years ago, I never thought that I would have to put this uniform on and be looked at as the enemy and to be hated. And it's not fair because we sacrifice ourselves every day. No matter what your skin color is, it's sad. In my tenure here at NYPD, I can never ever imagine that it would be this bad, as far as not being supported."
Citing several statistics, he said crime in New York City has skyrocketed under the governance of Mayor Bill de Blasio, the city council, and the district attorney's office.
"Why would you even want to put the uniform on to take the job if we're putting them in jail for the crimes that they commit and the D.A.'s just going to release them? What's the point of doing the job? It defeats the purpose. It's just a revolving door," he said.
The officer said he used to be a Democrat, and, although he would not consider himself one to follow politics, he considers himself a Republican. He said he thinks President Trump "absolutely" supports the police,
When asked if he thinks Joe Biden and Kamala Harris support the police, he said: "Absolutely not. They would not support us. People who allow these protesters to talk about how they want to defund the police department, we're there to make sure that nothing happens to them, but they're the ones saying that they want us dead."
Because they didn't have a problem with anything Barry did.

To a great extent, the police have allowed this contempt for them to develop because they have shown, time and again, a willingness to follow every debased cockamamie order bellowed by the Marxocrat leadership, mayors and city councils, of cities all across this country, large and small and their Marxocrat union stewards. They’ve shown that they, too, are driven by venal and base monetary motives, just like the worst sort of political hacks, becoming little more than craven mercenaries who do the bidding of Marxocrat totalitarian power freaks by harassing and hounding the very people of the community, like the workers and productive class, who would be inclined to support them, and let the perpetrators of murder and mayhem get off scot free, even as the rioters attack innocent victims pulled from their cars trying to escape the chaos are arrested by the police instead of the rioters. They write tickets galore for speeders going to their jobs and harmless jerks who sell individual cigarettes, but won’t show up when little old ladies are being rolled in the hood. Even the Oath Keepers turned out to be full of bee ess. I don’t see how the police recover the good will they’ve so stupidly squandered that took so many years to build but that they worked diligently to destroy.

all it would take to restore the faith of the NYPD is for them to kill a few armed rioters/looters/arsonists and dare the city’s DA or State’s AG to prosecute them for LEGALLY defending themselves and stopping serious, possibly murderous felonies.
If indicted, then every NYPD policeman should immediately resign, dump their guns and badges at City Hall, and go home, leaving NYC to the communists, BLM Marxists thugs, drug gangs and Democrat traitors.
See how long that situation would last.

The job may be dead, but the pay check and benefits are still better than 75% of the other jobs out there.
In my Seattle suburban town, the average cop pay is over $80,000 a year.
Factor in early retirement, and people will still line up to apply for this job.
I remember the reputation of the NYPD from the old days. They are hardly boy scouts themselves.

Just to show what type of people the NYPD and other police are, when a Bronx DA cracked down on ticket fixing, the police protested the DA!!!
