Bridges and roads were closed early Monday to prevent access to downtown Chicago after a night of unrest and looting in the city following an officer-involved shooting.
All bridges along the Chicago River were raised throughout The Loop, according to CBS Chicago.
Chicago's Officer of Emergency Management said on Twitter that streets are closed in the city's Magnificent Mile shopping district as well as Gold Coast and South Loop neighborhoods. The Illinois State Police also blocked some expressway ramps into downtown.

Why dont the police close down the roads while the stores are being looted and keep the people in there until they can all be arrested? I read that some places there were cars dropping people off to go into the stores to loot and then come back and pick them up. The police can just blockade the ends of those blocks ..... if they cared about stopping the looting, that is.
Bring back the toll plazas. To keep them in.
Whatever the details are, they will be spun as “racist white cop shoots peaceful Black man.”
They could have closed down the roads if the mayor or police chief wanted to. Their actions speak volumes.

Many of these looters were organized. Pleny of stories of scouts checking out stores, advising owners/guards/others to leave. Truck/van shows up immediately, windows are smashed and everything is on the truck and gone within minutes.
This is Mogadishu level thuggery going on in Chicago.
I wonder if it was those "teens" who are always acting up up there again?
Here in Dallas WBAP is reporting the house explosion in Baltimore but not a peep about Chicago.

They had toll roads every fifty yards down the freeway it seemed, the last time I drove from Chicago to Wisconsin.
