President Trump announced from the White House Thursday afternoon the RNC convention in Jacksonville has been canceled.
Citing the ongoing battle against Wuhan coronavirus, President Trump said it is his duty to protect the American people and the timing of the event isn't going to work.
The announcement comes after the Republican National Committee moved the convention from Charlotte, North Carolina to Jacksonville in June because of ongoing reopening restrictions.
This is a developing story, stay tunes for details.
What he can do is have a rally somewhere with about a week’s notice so as to not give antifa time to plan for it.
A rally would do just as well as a convention. Does anyone watch conventions anymore?

I can hear my father, grandfather and great grandfather from their graves saying, "sometimes you just got to kick yourself in the ass to get going." That was something that was repeated to me over and over again when I was a child and I was hesitant to do something.

I’m inclined to think that when SS and all others responsible for the president’s safety looked at all the possibilities for something dangerous/disastrous to happen they looked at not only one sick person but a lot of other possible dangers-maybe rumors were heard of would-be assassins embedded in groups of “peaceful protestors”, anarchists pretending to be attendees tossing molotov cocktails, planting crude IED’s, shooting, etc like they did in Seattle and Portland-it only takes one second of escaping the notice of the SS for someone to get close enough to pres Trump to cause harm-like happened to pres Reagan-and I wouldn’t put anything-anything at all-past the rabid democrats and/or their communist wannabe minions...

I don’t think is compromised. The politicians in Jacksonville are the culprits as they have put up roadblock after roadblock that it was just impossible to move forward. Remember that Florida had decent COVID numbers before he Jacksonville location for the RNC convention was announced. Then the numbers spiked due to labs reporting unusually high numbers. Some lab reported 100% of all patients tested and there are reports of those who showed up to be tested, did not get tested that were diagnosed positive for the china virus. So in the end I don’t think this was a compromise of Trump rather than he demoncrats doing everything they can to stop the RNC convention.
We’re quite capable of connecting on line. We love him, respect him and are not about to walk away.

I think security and not the chinese virus played a big role - it would’ve been a war zone like Tulsa or Portland and the media would lap it up

Whatever is planned as an alternative will be showy, symbolic, able to feature outstanding speakers without distraction, have entertainment, and will draw tens of millions of viewers

He should be pissed. Pence did not choose wisely when he gathered the WuFlu team. Time was short, I know, but it would’ve been easy to vet both Fauci and Birx within one day, based simply on internet searches. FReepers found info on them and their loyalties within hours. A deep dive wouldn’t have been necessary. Pence didn’t do that. Or ... maybe he did which tells us ...?
President Trump needs to still have a bunch of "normal" rallies between now and November 3rd. YES, hold them outside! Have another one in South Dakota.... Have them in as many states as is safely possible.
Those rallies are one of Trump's best weapons against Dementia Joe.
